Medianetwork Communication presents the DVD packaging for the first volume of the italian G1 cartoons reissue.

Starting November 9th, G1 Vol. 1 will be available in the stores and will feature Season 1 episodes #1-8, never-before-seen cover art by Emiliano Santalucia (Transformers Spotlight: Blaster), a new dubbing, a new translation and 12 character profiles. Translation and texts have been supervised by Emiliano Santalucia and Franco Villa (that would be me).

I'm happy for the fans in Italy, that looks like a nice set! And here in America...there is no G1 on the shelf, except for leftover copies of the 86 movie 20th anniversary edition. Sad, huh?

Emiliano Santalucia did a very good job in Spotlight: Blaster, and like Guido, seems to be really good at capturing the look of the G1 cartoon.

Judging by the TV Loonland logo, this DVD set's deal must have been inked while Loonland still owned the worldwide rights to the Sunbow catalogue.

Its very cool how the cover art is based off the animation models from the actual cartoon, instead of some comic style.

Bet you when Paramount releases a G1 DVD set, they'll just reuse More Than Meets The Eye art.
