I think that's the reason too. Maybe once they finally get rid of their damage painted stock they'll do single carded un-'damaged' releases of them. Anyway, this is Hasbro - any excuse to release the same figures as many times as possible is what they strive for. I bet the next time this Prime and Megs come out will be in two-packs with other figures again, but without the battle damage paint so people have to buy them once more to get the un-'damaged' versions. And then Hasbro may finally get around to single carded un-'damaged' releases of them. And then the normal raft of full repaints of them will begin.

Still, I bought the Battle Begins two-pack so I'll just give up now.

I'm starting to get curious.... perhaps these are the Black Friday items for sale at Wal-Mart this year?

We knew about the Universe two-packs for Wal-Mart around this time last year.

Beware!! Pic intense, but divided into series (mostly).

For me it was the timing of it's release. I like the Prime and Megs, battle damage and all, but the set came out too close to the launch of the Animated line itself, around here anyway. So walking into the store, you had the choice of an Animated Voyager fig, or that Battle Begins 2-pack for $20.

An Animated Voyager fig wins out everytime for me.

Since there is a WM sticker, I would venture that these will be Christmas Black Friday exclusives. WM also had 2 Cybertron 2 packs last year, so it seems to fit the pattern. Target has had some Cybertron 2 packs in the past, so I wonder what some of these other stores will have for Black Friday?

I own the Battle Begins pack already, so these two sets don't interest me in the least. Blackarachnia I can live without, and that Prowl is the first release, not the suposedly uber-cool Samurai Armor retool that I'm holding out for.

Say, there's an idea for another two-pack: "Lockdown (original version) and Prowl (Samurai Armor version) team up", just like in "Fistfull of Energon"
