Looks interesting, but it seems to be a little bit of an overkill figure.
Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done though.

Random and strange, but very original. Had I a Reverse Convoy, I might look into it.

In any case, I fail to see how "nuke the fridge" or "jump the shark" even remotly applies to the situation.

QFT man, that's a neat idea there.

Some of those figures are neat, I wouldn't mind getting an affordable mass produced version of some of those. Others, not so much.

I've got Reverse Convoy, and I can say I'm not all that interested in the idea. I think a better idea if you're going to something like that would be to make a good Targetmaster Megatron figure with the 5 mm peg for any recent figure to hold.

The sad part is that they could probably make a really kick ass gun megatron if they didn't throw all this other stuff into it.

But it is still an original idea, and I have faith that if it ever gets finished it will look great.

Well, for one Jizai seems to be focused on the early stuff - all his finalized models have been G1 so far.

You also need to consider Animated has possibly not been aired in japan yet, or, if so, very recently. It's been paid attention to by japanese fansubbers but it's probably not well-known there, there's little chance Jizai has even seen it...

...If he ever sees it at all. Yep, he makes toys, that doesn't mean he actually pays attention to the more recent cartoons.

Jizai makes his toys primarily for himself, and only a small subset of them ever go through production of more than just one for his personal shelves. Those which do are produced in very small numbers (10-15) which are invariably sold out a few minutes after the opening of Wonder Festival, the event he sells these at. All that he needs in terms of market research is knowing that 10 persons are gonna be obsessive enough to buy his kits. In a model otaku event like WF that's more than easy.

Nope, cause I like it too!  If you're a sucker for customs, call me Mr. Owl.

Pointless? Hardly. We've had a G2 Hero Megatron and a "RiD" Bludgeon from the same mold as well as Reverse Convoy. Oddly enough, I have a G2 Hero Megatron with no head or blaster. It looks like this kit was made just for me! Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to afford it :(

I think this piece is VERY refreshing to see. I'd love to see a lot more things that are completely out in left field like this made.

Is this piece for everyone? Well, I'd think that much is pretty obvious. :)

why are so many people assuming that this kit will be for sale? also, why would that be a reason to criticise? y'now, vote with your wallet.

Anyway I truly believe that anyone who has anything negative to say here should just stick to their nice little official store bought toys. Its pathetic when a little creativity and enthusiasum will be shot down for not being 'commercialy viable' enough.

    wow.

Way to encourage anyone to do anything ever guys.

    Yeah, this.

I don't really get it. But tin. doesn't mean Jizai's lost his mind or anything.

I don't know if Reverse Convoy is the right place for a gimmick like that, but I really like the general idea. If only I had the drive to take the base idea (transforming head/weaponry unit) and apply it to a custom design...but I'm just too damn lazy

Probably because the news item mentions Jizaitoys-the-company rather than Jizai-the-guy, and while it makes sense for a guy to just make models for his enjoyment if a company is mentioned the only assumption will be that it's destined to be sold.

Of course the confusion here is easy since both man and company are one and the same.

They obviously have too much time on their hands. They're answering a question that no one has asked with this one.

Because this is a discussion forum. We, er... y'know... discuss stuff. Things like "would you buy this?" And us discussing that sort of thing is helpful. If we just don't buy it, the company knows they've done something wrong, but doesn't know WHAT.
