lol'd at the auction for stuff from the crash. I can only imagine some rich fangirl bought it to try and find some random blood to lick up and imagine it's Labeouf's.

    NO IT WASN'T ME.

    MISINFORMATION!

but yeah, i believe it. i think bay is right about shia, he knows it's not good to do stupid things, and he made a vow to not do stupid things anymore. and his behavior certainly has reflected that. i really don't think he'd do something like drive drunk, especially not with passengers. and the police say he wasn't at fault. it kinda sickens me the huge amount of blame and slander shia received from people on the boards. he didn't do anything wrong people. deal with it. i love how every time something happens involving the TF brand, the fan boards become similar to a text version of 'The View' :lol

the police that arrived at the scene said it was "obvious that he had been drinking". i'm thinking it's probably just his animated personality. or perhaps they meant it was "obvious that he had been drinking at some point in the past, as there was an empty bottle under his car seat."

It's possible that Shia wasn't walking very well and the cops assumed he was drunk when in fact he had an injured leg. Plus, he was probably very shaken since he was in a car that had just rolled over several times. No one would be that steady on their feet after that. And lets not forget that no breathalizer or any other test was given to him at the scene and we have yet to hear of blood tests at the hospital. I'm sure if his blood alcohol level had been over the legal limit it would've been posted all over the 'net by now.

For the love of God, do not write it into the script. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

    My thoughts exactly.

I notice that we've heard NOTHING about him being charged with DUI. We've heard the cops said he was DUI, but if he had actually been charged/going to court/etc that would be all over the gossip sites.

Why not? It's plausible to do.

They wrote Mark Hamill's facial scar from a car crash into Empire Strikes Back.

Shia should hold a press conference about this, then suddenly pull off his face to reveal that the Shia in the crash was actually Super Dave Osborne, creating another link in the interweaving chain of misinformation designed to prevent Transformers 2 spoilers.

If everything we hear about the movie is fake, and Bay says LaBeouf wasn't drinking, does that mean he was?

And the scar on Harrison Ford's chin was written into the flashback in Indiana Jones 3.

Haha, seriously. I believe this story as much as Bay's comment about "everything we've heard on TF2 is a lie."

I'd like to think Shia wasn't at fault, especially with reports of the other driver running a light...but I don't think Shia always makes the best decisions.

That's what I'm wondering. If everything is meant to take the fans down some false path then how the heck does he expect people to know when he's telling the truth or not?

Maybe we could ask Orci since he'd rather do a 'no commit' than have to lie to the fans about stuff.

I'd like to believe he wasn't driving drunk, and if he ends up being cleared of it, I hope the media make as much of a widespread effort to vindicate him as they did to instantly crucify him. Between a week's worth of daily online updates via every major press outlet saying he was drunk and all the entertainment TV shows like TMZ, Access Hollywood, etc. running entire segments ala "The Trouble With Shia", there has been a LOT of damage done.

Stay tuned. Next week it'll be he was delivering food to the homeless shelter while transporting his sainted older relative to the nunnery when he was struck by Satan himself driving another vehicle.

Up to this point I was pretty much on the side of "whatever. Not cool, but whatever." Now I'm thinking hard cover and it's sort of irritating the way Hollywood people can go do whatever they want and it's ALWAYS someone else's fault.

I know I don't know details, but this is the first time in this whole mess where "benefit of the doubt" has just left my mind as a possibility.

I'm beginning to feel I'm in that ancient "One of us always lies" puzzle. Or, in TF terms, that I'm Ironhide making my way through an Automated Defense Ring.

That quote just might be something police use as a standard description of someone they want to arrest for drunk driving. I don't mean to condone driving while impaired, but part of a policeman's job is writing tickets so the government can collect fines and continue to afford to pay him.

I missed that there was no breathalyzer test done at the scene. If that is true then what real evidence would they have against him other than the cop saying he had been drinking? I think the fact that he was injured should certainly make any other sobriety tests (if any were given) inadmissible.

But it's no longer exciting if he is cleared of the charges. They might make quick mention of it somewhere but it won't get nearly as much attention.
