Shane McCarthy has updated his blog with two new posts.

First we have the cover to All Hail Megatron issue 4:

And second we have high res design sketches of Drift, the all-new Transformer in the IDW series unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con.

Those pics make Drift look even cooler! I look forward to the toy coming out, here's hoping he poses as good as he looks!

Drift looks pretty sweet. I was actually kinda hoping he'd end up a Decepticon (from the other pictures it was hard to see what side he would e on). I'm kinda interested to see how well he'll translate into toy form, but there are plenty of other figures I'm more interested in seeing (25th Ann. Hound for example).

That 'Defeat' cover for issue 4, I think that's Ratchet (or Ironhide).

Wow, loving both thwe cover and the new kid... LOve the design of Drift, although it sucks because I know we'll probably never get a figure for it

Cover is very haunting... I think it is Ratchet, but we'll have to wait and see.

At the panel IDW said Drift will be the first IDW-made character to be turned into a toy by Hasbro.

I'm sure whatever his role is, there was already an existing Transformer with a toy who rarely or never appears in the comics that could have fit the same role.

There's hundreds of characters with toys and many will not be used without resorting to creating new guys - who I consider to take up a slot that could have gone to someone with a toy. I don't care if its the most obscure Japanese character that many people won't have heard of before - its still a character with a toy.

Well if thats true, then I can accept that. Its just that I consider the toyline and the fiction extensions of each other.

Hmm... Drift, eh? Looks good. But... I'm not a fan of Hasbro. Having been screwed over enough times with their terrible paint jobs and quality parts, I won't be considering to get it. Now if TakaraTomy picks it up... then I'll consider it.
