I feel kinda bad for them, really. I can imagine it was a gloomy day at Jizai toys when the new Universe lineup was announced.
Lets see... upcoming Universe figures from Hasbro: Legends Wheelie, Deluxe Cyclonus, Deluxe Tankor/Octane, Deluxe Ironhide, Ultra Powerglide.

Yeah, Hasbro just took a dump on Jizaitoys.

Oh well, at least they still have the market cornered when it comes to chair-formers.

hmmm.

I think the fragility issue would be addressed if Takara just enlarged the scale of the figures.

I don't really think Hasbro releasing official versions of these characters is going to affect them... At all.

The garage kit market is an entirely separate one as far as main target audience goes. And on top of that these toys are clearly for people who desire sculpts that are very accurate to both the G1 toys and G1 cartoons.

Plus, I see people on the boards who are on their like fifth Voyager Prime or Masterpiece Starscream variation. I don't think Hasbro releasing versions of Octane and Powerglide that look completely different are going to dissuade the collectors that like these characters.

I have a pre-assembled Jizaitoy metallic Cyclonus. When I first got it the joints were loose as hell. Took some nail polish and made the joints tighter. Now the figure can stand on its own but very limited on posing. Again its a great looking figure but not to play with.
