"That's not Arcee, that's a MAN, baby!"

I know the comic is meant to sell toys, but...jeez! This is yet one more reason why Japan shouldn't be allowed to write TF fiction.
Any one of the cassettes could kick Hot Rod's ass and make him cry even more over how he isn't Optimus. Hot Rod(imus) is not the super unbeatable shonen character who never gives up and always wins because he has a warrior's heart and has those he wants to protect. |

He's always been very powerful. Have you ever read his tech specs? The Movie depicted him as very powerful too.
All of his stats are 10's except for his Courage (a 7) and his Speed (a 9). He rates better overall than Megatron.

-airfox | I saw the one where Megatron easily got Hot Rod in a headlock, and held him hostage.
Seriously, he was pretty useless, untill the Matrix finally got exaspirated, and said "Here kid, have an upgrade, and stop embarassing us." |

Taking down loads of Sharkticons, and then holding his own with Galvatron himself (who is much more powerful version of Megatron). So he did all that before the Matrix.

The Matrix did lend a hand at the end, but after Hot Rod had spent the whole movie proving himself, with only one actual mistake. Quote:
