Since the very beginning, we had our own comic, mostly US reprints, but some new material too. It was published a lot more often than the US comic after all so new material was needed and Simon Furman wrote the lion's share.
There's also the fact that the US comics are not widely available here and comics in supermarkets have always been in a different format (much bigger for one, magazine sized). Even the Superman and Batman comics get reprinted in bigger magazine sized editions, but no new material for them.
Anyhow, IDW is releasing the UK published Movie comics two to an issue in the US, so hopefully the Animated stuff should also find its way over there through them eventually. Quote:
