People need to realize that yes, BBTS does enough business to stay afloat and pay their employees, but I'd love to take a look at their recorded losses for each year. I guarantee you it looks like a rollercoaster...from Hell. Quote:

Curse you plastic moldsman!!! | I will admit, however, that yes...on some items they are starting to get waaaay out of hand with their prices.
Especially shipping, that's just gougetastic lately.
Priority starts at $4.80 per pound ($4.75 if they pay for the postage online and includes free Delivery Confirmation.) and most of their items fit into the Flat Rate boxes.
It's tight, but you can fit four Deluxe Class figures, carded, into a standard $4.80 Priority Mail box (the long thin ones), slightly bigger items (such as Voyagers) fit just perfect inside of the larger Flat Rate boxes ($9.80), and if they must go out of their way, the largest FR box is only $12.95.
They want upwards of $16.00 for some shipments! Which is ridiculous. They'd tell you it's handling fees, but the Post Office will deliver any and all materials they require...FOR FREE. (that includes the materials themselves!) Not to mention, the mail carrier will come and pick up their shipment(s) for free as well. They literally don't have to leave the warehouse or their office for pretty much anything. Even UPS will do the same thing.
I still like BBTS, don't get me wrong, but their current pricing structure and their exorbitant shipping costs are out of hand. Not all prices are ridiculous, but some are just insane. Quote:

Also preordered Blitzwing but may or may not keep it there. That 35 bucks is blatant gouging regardless of short packing. It's not like walmart ups the prices on figures that are short packed.
I also saw that Hulk Build a Figure set for 99 bucks and threw it in my preorder right away. Then I took it right back out after reading it. Not the complete set, only 5 figures marked up from 10 a piece to 20 a piece. I'm going to wait and see if the SDCC complete set with box is thrown up on the HTS site after SDCC.
I love those Universe figures but I just don't have the money for them. I will just play it by the ear and if I see them in stores a couple months from now and have the extra 20 bucks I may get them. |

Yeah their prices are a little higher but, their pile of loot option and their AMAZING customer service is worth the extra cost you'll pay. TRUST ME they'll take care of you if ANYTHING goes wrong.....that in itself is worth the extra money.
On to Blitzwing......I want a figure of this character but, I can't get over the tank treads showing while he's in plane mode. Couldn't they have done a better job of hiding those tank treads. When he's in plane mode he looks like a tank that a plane just happened to land on top of. |

The stuff you mentioned is kind of nice, but it's certainly not the reason you are paying 15 more for Blitzwing or double the price for Hulk Legends figures.
And really, people are not stupid, we understand why we are paying extra and we are still doing it. We are just looking for an outlet to vent about it so it would be nice if people would stop coming into threads where people are complaining about prices at BBTS or HTS problems and stop acting like they are the voice of reason. |
