Am I missing something? I don't see anything about a marketing "package". It just appears to me to be a marketing schedule (like it says at the top) for October through December. If I'm reading it right, it shows the Alternity GT-R as available for all three months, MP T-cracker (the purple block) available in November (maybe only then?), and "25th Project Start!!" ("purojekuto sutaato!!") in December. I assume the green block that ends in November is Henkei, as it seems to list Galvatron, Ratchet, and... Ironhide? ("aianhaido").
WOW! It is a link to the schedule of the rest of the year and outlines the releases of highly anticipated figures! LOL at you I wanna see what the 25th anniversary stuff is about... maybe a period of many new, unknown Masterpieces? One can dream of a Masterpiece Wheelie...
WOW long time since I saw Evaunit post! Can someone translate this? I want the news of the GT-R BADLY!
This thread's title needs to be changed to avoid confusion. There's nothing to be translated regarding the Alternity figure. TakaraTomy are going to start marketing the toy starting in September, so expect to see prototype images and the like in Japanese hobby magazines. Don't forget that we were not supposed to see images of the figure yet since it was displayed in a "No Photography Allowed" section of the Tokyo Toy Show and fantofan.jp secretly snapped a few photos for our benefit. The expected release is in November although the latest news is that the release date might be pushed back if Nissan wishes them to do so.
The point is it is meaningless to 99% of the members here, since most of us can't read Japanese. So it needed to be translated for us before we can put it into context!
Exactly. It's great for someone who can read Japanese, but for those of us whom have little to no knowledge of the written language it needs to be translated. Also, sounds like there is some interesting information on there so it'd be great if someone could translate the info for us.
Hey, you never told me you could read Japanese! You read it absolutely right There really is nothing new, it does say the new project for the 25th anniversary starts in December, but it doesn't say what it's going to be like. What I found interesting is the first thin green line (under aianhaido etc) indicates expansion of the marketing toward more general public (called "light-fan", gotta love Janglish) in the non- hobby magazines such as auto or movie magazines. There might be some campaign or two. There also will be Henkei TV (I assume) ads planned as well. That's about it.
As a subscriber to Bar Graph & Flowchart Enthusiast magazine, I've seen that before (it was the June ish centerfold), but like all marketing schedules, they don't 'pop' when photographed. Only when scanned. Is Hasbro waiting until December for 25th launch? I thought G1 Prime was for Thanksgiving weekend in the states.
Thanks, but I really can't read much. I'm getting somewhat accustomed to katakana, and it's easy enough to find katakana -> romaji conversion charts on the web. Kanji's still a near-total mystery to me. I'm trying to get SOME knowledge before my trip to Japan in (I hope) November. Is that the way "Thundercracker" has typically been written by Takara? It looks like it says "sandaakuratsukaa". The presence of the "tsu" puzzles me -- I'd think "sandaakurakaa" would be much closer in pronunciation to the English. Heh. "Light-fan". Is the second thin green line talking about promotions in hobby magazines? Looks like Hyper Hobby is mentioned. I believe Thanksgiving is correct, but that's practically December, anyway. And I believe G1 OP is supposed to be the first release in Hasbro's 25th-labeled stuff.
The catalog indicates marketing for the following: * Movie line will run through the end of October 2008 * The new Alternity (previously BinalTech) line begins in September 2008 * Encore Metroplex and Masterpiece MP-07 Thundercracker will be marketed in November 2008. * Henkei Sunstreaker, Prowl, Lambor, Octane, Steak, Galvatron, Ratchet, and Iron Hide marketing will round out the rest of 2008 in November * The new 25th Anniversary marketing will begin in December 2008 and just in time for 2009! That is basically what it states
It is. It's about their planned featured monthly articles in various hobby magazines (Hyper-Hobby among them), though once again, it doesn't say what sort of articles they are going to be. As for your other Q, please check your profile page. I thought it might be too off topic here
