I'd just take it as rumor at this time. According to the local news, shooting at Bethlehem is set to/ended at 7 AM this morning:

The rumor also states that the majority of the movie will take place there, but this article again backs up the previous statement that this scene will open the movie. Additionally, they'd be shooting for much more than a few days here if this area was featured in most of the movie.

If this is the opening scene, it also wouldn't make much sense for Shia to be there, unless it's a scene from a time before Sam's college life. Otherwise, Sam would be at college until the movie plot starts to develop and not in a Chinese city.

 

Maybe the ice cream truck is a autobot spy who later gets a better form?

If it's true that there are black and white Audi's, then I have a feeling those will be the twins, Sunstreak and Sideswipe.

And VW isn't dumb. They saw the success of the first movie...

 

I'll take this rumor with some salt please. Seriously, this particular rumor seems to contradict everything else we've heard thus far so I'm going to say maybe.

Now, we've seen the icecream truck before, but I'm thinking it's not a TF. God I hope not anyways... though it could be cool just from a hilarity point of view I guess.

Also, if there is a Red & Black Acura NSX... I'm going to say it's either Hot Rod or Sideswipe, because if you look at the Acura NSX (especially in those colors)... it's so close to those two characters that it hurts.

Edit: On the subject of the Audis... again I'll take it with a grain of salt considering that we know that VW is very much against featuring their designs in any kind of war type stuff. However, they're also not stupid and money tends to make people (especially higher ups in the buisness industry) forget about their scruples. So, I'll take it with a grain of salt, but consider it possible.

 

Thats what I'm thinking and its not really dreaming its pretty realistic for him too be in the movieverse wait....WHEELJACK yeah its more like w.j. than bluestreak also the acura does scream hotrod. as for the ice cream bot maybe sunstreaker and sideswipe???(hopefully not but to be honust I think its not a tf)and the black one ummm ravage?

 

I don't know why so many people seem to be down on the Ice Cream Truck being a TF.

If the rumour is even partially true, it's likely that:
A) they are disposable background autobots, who pop up in a scene, maybe get destroyed, and don't feature prominently in the movie,
or
B) it's an autobot who gets a more glamorous alt mode later (because as we all know, it's STUPIDLY easier for TFs to switch alt modes than it is for people to switch their socks).

In any case, I would find it totally refreshing to see TFs that turn into unlikely vehicles that are actually useful as disguises, rather than exclusively hot sexy new cars and glossy bling-bling trucks.

It's for this reason that I think Longarm is one of the best figures in the movie line. And I gotta give props to Animated for giving us a TF Garbage Truck... something not seen since the days of Gobot Flytrap.

So I say, bring on the ice cream truck-bot!

(though the twins thing seems a bit odd...)

Y'know - you bring up a good point. If a TF crashes & needs to get an alt mode quickly... to avoid being picked up on radar/satellite (which yea, I think the Chinese may just be capable of doing  ), it may take the first thing that's in the approximate mass range needed... and could then take on a better mode when more selection presents itself.
