I'll give them an A for effort. If nothing else, I appreciate that there are a couple more people out there beyond me that want to see Transformers in a more grown-up light. In my opinion, we've haven't had anything like that since Dreamwave's slightly matured version of G1.

I still wait with baited breath that we'll ever get something like this in official fiction that delivers on ALL levels: art, story, coloring, and modified G1 style & designs. If I had the resources to hire artists like Don & Guido exclusively, the former DW colorists and get the permission from Hasbro to publish a more mature version of G1, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I think of this often... to a pathetically sad degree  

 

somehow those designs remind me of trans tech stuff. i wonder where they expect to go with this; storywise. how do the humans fight giant robots? robotech had the valkyries, and evangelion had the evas. what will these humans use? big guns? computer viruses? left hooks? i hope there is something unique in it to help it differentiate from the others.

I am pro-robot. Transformers are just my favorite. They'd be my second favorite if Getter Robo had any toys worth a damn. I am willing to give anything robot oriented a chance. If it has some cool artwork it will be worth it just for that.
