The movie is seperate from the first season. Following the movie, Season 1 had 13 episodes and Season 2 had 13 episodes. Although there has been no word on Season 2, both the movie and Season 1 are getting their releases. |

It's like taking MTMTE Parts 1-3 from the first G1 season. It should be released as a whole. |

No one just picking up the Season 2 DVD would have the vital story elements or character developments from the movie or Season 1. Someone picking up on the series from Episode 4 would be more likely to be able to follow it than someone picking up from Episode 17. Should Paramount just wait to release the series as a whole then?
Regardless, Paramount is releasing what was deemed to be Season 1 in a box set. For those that feel that doesn't tell the whole story, they're releasing the premiere movie before that. Looks like Paramount is releasing everything, in order. |

Looks like Paramount is releasing everything, in order. | That's taking it to a bit of an extreme. If I buy season 2, I know there was a first season, so will expect some parts of the story not to make complete sense. But if I buy season 1, I should be able to follow the story completely, not wonder how these robots got to Earth, how this girl got this key, what the Allspark is, why Megatron is just a head.
I see why Paramount are doing it and have already spoken to their Home Entertainment department about it. They will make more money from 2 releases: 1 disc and 2 disc, instead of as complete 3 disc set. |

If they added the movie into the box set it'd cost more.
Till All Are One in 2005.
