I'm REALLY surprised they went ahead with Metroplex. Fortunately they announced theirs right before the bootleg release so hopefully that helps sell the official version. I'd say the Minibots got the green light because the first set sold like hotcakes |

See, something has worth when someone gives it worth. So if I value it, and say, I'd pay $5 for it, or, say, I'd skip lunch for it, then that's how much it's worth to me.
So to a collector willing to buy one for $30 or whatever, regardless of whether or not it's authentic or real, it's worth $30. This can be used to establish market value over the course of several recorded purchases. This is generally what people are referring to when they say something is "worth" something, at least when talking about collectibles or tangible items.
So to avoid confusion, you shouldn't say it's "worthless", unless you mean it's worthless to you, which should be followed by the qualifier "to me".
If you're making an editorial statement about the authenticity or whatever, then just use the KOs are bad thread! | Welcome to the internet. The land of opinion. Stay awhile. With that said, let's get to the meat. The only thing that gives collectibles value is their collectibility. Meaning their rarity in the market. For example a toy that was released 25 years ago that is no longer available today. G1 Reflector, for example. Or maybe Action Comics #1. Also a rarity even in poor condition. Since many items were not considered a 'collectible' at the time of their release, very few individuals saved these items as such. So bootlegs and KO's will NEVER have any inherent value. They can be reproduced over and over and over. It is true that some may pay top dollar for reproductions, but it is not the repro's that carry the value, it's the originals they are replacing. Sig pictures are to be no larger than 40KB in file size and should be no larger than 300 pixels in height and 500 pixels wide - 2005 Staff |

The problem: I can't tell the differences between this and a g1 box! Looks like a lot of dishonest seller is going to pass this as the real thing again.... http://cgi.ebay.com/G1-Transformers-...QQcmdZViewItem |

When news of these originally broke a couple months ago, they said they were going to release these in 2 or 3 different boxes. I hope that still stands true, because I'd love to get my hands on the other variations. Newest TF Addition: FORTRESS MAXIMUS!!! |
