I got totally caught off-guard by all the Hot Shot talk because I read the opening post here before seeing the TFormers coverage. :lol

Also interesting... Galvatron's only a deluxe because they had too many other tanks at a larger scale, so they had to do a smaller version.

I agree - shit excuse. How many cars do they have at a set scale? Bloody loads I tell you.

As for the Hot Shot news... Bothered.

I notice many mentions of "shortlists" by Hasbro. Shame we can't know who else is on these lists.

    - Okay, the OP's thing about a 25th Anniversary Hot Rod got me really, really excited. Then I found out it was just a new deluxe Hot Shot. :cry

Still, I'll probably pick the guy up since I've always wanted to see the Armada version done right.

    - Good to hear they're still working on Classics Cosmos. The Titanium model looked too cool to never release.

    - I can see the reasoning behind making Classics Galvy a deluxe. It's still stupid, though. I'd gladly sacrifice Onslaught for a properly huge Galvatron.

    - Animated Perceptor? Hell yeah.

    - The heart in Powerglide's chest is awesome. That might have just moved it up into the "definite buy" category, as I've been very much on the fence about him until now.

their reason is BS since there are no tanks in the large scale for the universe line so far. and the only tank in that scale coming from animated so far is Blitzwing, who will probably be packaged in jet mode. other than that, the modern large scale tanks are limited to movie brawl (both versions) and the armada Megatron mold. that's three molds. there are the SAME AMOUNT of modern deluxe tank molds. classics 2-pack megatron. cybertron unicron. movie deluxe brawl. so why doesnt that effect the decision at all?

hell, from what we've seen, damn near every large class figure in universe flies. they're even using the evac mold TWICE. why not "that scale needs more ground vehicles, let's make galvatron one of them" ?

Man, I can't believe they went so far as to include the heart inside Powerglide.
    Hasbro = Utterly awesome

    Animated Perceptor sounds cool.

Well the typo wasn't really wrong,
Hot shot's japanese name IS Hot Rod.

He probably would have been Hot Rod in america also if they had the trademark.

To be fair, Hot Shot was a very popular character for the intended age group of Transformers, and as such, he's the iconic character for that era, even if his original toy was not very good.

Still, Walky pwned everybody in the fandom :p

Armamda Jetfire I expect, has the big boosters and such, and the cool re-enrty scorched nosecone to boot.

The report has stopped updating but it doesn't actually say the panel finished.

Those comments on Tformers leads me to believe that site's members don't actually understand the apparent purpose of the 25th Anniversary. From what we've heard, like Star Wars' 30th Anniversary line, it will have representation from all series of Transformers throughout the past 25 years, not just G1.

Well, they've already had a Hot Rod do-over in Classics (and a Rodimus Prime do-over in Titanium)...

See, what's so bad about Hot Shot though?

    I missed Armada, so I don't know.

And don't use any arguments regarding the actual figure proper, given that this one will probably be a vast improvement over the original.

I want to see the reaction of kids who don't really know G1 when they see the Hound and ravage toy.

*yes I know ravage is not a dog

Hey - for that matter, I'll bet most kids don't know who half the Star Wars figures they make are.
