DN | Actually Starscream is always supposed to look like 'Deep Space Starscream'.
Just that ILM's early concept art made Starscream tan for some reason. Evidently Hasbro had a brainfart and forgot Raptors aren't tan or beige, so they made all their early Starscream toys these colours. Even the low-res publicity stills ILM made for Hasbro were tan to reflect this. |

If the rock/dirt/sand were a lighter shade of tan, I think the trucks and Starscream would stand out even more.
