Well, unlike Prime, who had some battle damage over red paint on Clear plastic, it looks like pretty much all of Megatron's battle damage in this set is on plastic that's molded in the actual colo of the part, so the battle damage should be easily removable with some rubbing alcohol. If only getting the damage off of Prime were as simple.

well... let me be that guy..... it seems to me this is a smaller version to say the very least. the cannon is very different, and overall, certain parts are quite noticeably different by comparison. now, maybe i'm fuzzy on the term "remold" but... frankly, even if it's the same design, this would fall under remold in my book because of the vast size difference. i mean, it would take all new parts in all new sizes, regardless of the similarities between the two so.... i'm gonna call shennanigans on this not being a remold until someone can explain otherwise.

You're actually falling into the opposite camp as "remold". "Remold" means that it's the same figure, with minor changes to parts. What you're describing (quite correctly) is completely different pieces, very likely sculpted on their own from the ground up, separately from the Voyager version.

Consider yourself safe from e-smacking

Awww... poop.

Yeah, A.S. "[A]ll new parts in all new sizes", by Hasbro's definition, isn't a "remold". I'd call what you're talking about a "redesign", "reimagining", or"do-over".

There are several cases where a toy's -design- is in part replicated (easiest example I can think of is Energon Starscream being very much -based- on the smaller jet from G2 Dreadwing), or even just design tricks are replicated. But a remold would be what QuinJester described.
