No matter what happens, it's bad for the integrity of the story. Ratchet's just a doctor and Sixshot is supposed to be able to destroy entire worlds. This is a complete mismatch.
Sixshot has been built up so much that if Ratchet somehow gets away, it makes Sixshot look like a complete tool. Just like my opinion of Megatron took a nosedive after Marvel #7, when I was like eight. After a humilitating defeat like that, your villan doesn't invoke any menace.
And if he destroys Ratchet, well, I guess that's not a downside. I hate Ratchet. Fosterlager's Big G1 and Botcon sale (with FREEBIES!)
