I am really excited to see this show. I think the key is to remember that this is a cartoon made for kids. This is not made to satisfy 20- and 30-something collectors (granted, the fact that they're throwing in G1 and BW references is a nice treat). With that in mind, I am totally fine with the animation. The robots don't have to be ultra-realistic in appearance. The most important thing to me, which I have said from day one about every TF series, is that it has good storytelling and compelling characters. If that much is present, I can deal with whatever style and format Hasbro uses. CGI, 2D cels, mix of both, realistic, anime, whatever. Just make it interesting. So far, based on what I've seen and heard, this series will be head-and-shoulders above the last three entries Armada/Energon/Cybertron.

 

Wow! We're off to a really good start! If you can look past the horrible animation it might be a good show! Yeah! That sounds promising! Right off the bat we have to look past shitty animation & kinda sorta hope the writing will be good.

What if we want good animation to go along with good writing? Guess that's asking too much huh? 

 

HURRAAAAA!!! Promising indeed! I want to see Sentinel Prime and Ultra Magnus, which its cool since its not a repainted Optimus. XD

 

Its not a continuation of G1, its a reimagining. The G1 footage features obscure Cybertronian characters and Omega Supremes from the Orion Pax episode.

I think the footage is just there as a nod to the fans.

 

i'm just disappointed to hear that Rodimus Prime isn't head honcho with Magnus being the sub commander.

Well, it's one more than we've gotten in the last three shows that's for sure!  

 

Not to be a jerk, but it was ironically set in 2006. Since giant robots have not ravaged Earth as-of-yet we can say that those visions from the past never occured. It looks like doomsday didn't happen after all, and we succeeded in taking down Skynet.

 

The more I hear and see of this series, the more I love it. I'm actually excited about a Transformers tv show again!!

And if this is a continuation of G1, it sounds almost like what Armada was MEANT TO BE!! Sweet!

From what I've seen the actual animation is pretty well done. To clarify my point here, animation and art style are two very different things. So I'm guessing that what you don't care for is the style.

 

depends on the timeframe--might be an ancestor,as beast wars happens before and after g1...doubting any connection anyway...too much to hope for...

 

Is the transforming sound used for all Transformations?
Or used sometimes?

 

I'd like to see that happen if they could pull it off well, but I doubt it does.

As far as I can remember they used the old transformation sound.

 

I still won't watch it. I simply cannot get past the style, which makes me want to rip my eyes out with a fork.

 

Sounds fairly interesting. I'm willing to give the series a go.
