9-10 Million for an unpromoted screening? Well that sounds good!

Still, I guess some people will be able to read it as "the film is failing miserably at the box office"

Being called an 'idiot' by a fool sort of cancels things out I reckon..

Heh. Love that it's already made more in a few hours than the animated movie ever made.

However, I do expect certain parties here to come and show us 'idiots' that it isn't good at all and really means the film is failing horribly.
For only a few showings and being unpromoted on a work/school night, that's a good amount. When said idiots come to try and say that's proof of the movie failing, remind them that in the international market as of July 1st it's already made over $36 million, and that's only in 10 countries so far over a 3 day period, not including the other big markets like Japan and the UK.

I really really want this movie to make assloads of money so that whenever they finance the next movie they can double budget...lord knows that it needs a bigger budget.

Michael Bay may not have raped my childhood, but I think he may have molested it.

I was at the monday night show in Providence, everyone there loved it, a few said they'd go and watch it again too.
I think we've got a big hit on our hands folks!

I saw it again last night at 8. Theatre was packed by 7, the audience actually clapped at the end of the movie. They definitely didn't go crazy like at Botcon, but everyone seemed to really like it.

I wasn't at botcon so I don't know how that crowd was, but the crowd last night was frickin' rowdy, there were at least 4 guys with Optimus Prime masks and tons of cheering thought the movie.

When the credits came up there was more clapping and cheering than I have EVER heard in a movie theater before.

I disagree about needing a doubled budget. This movie delivered a LOT for a $150 million dollar budget. Bay was bragging about how good the movie was while costing less than Spider-Man 3 or Pirates 3, and I have to agree with him (although part of me thinks that, if you included the costs of all the marketing done, Transformers probably didn't cost -that- much less than those other guys). Plus, the more they spend on a movie, the harder it'll be for it to make its money back.
