Movie figures finally arrived in Serbia two days ago. Here are the prices: Real Gear: 1150-1250 dinars (approximately $19-$20.5) Deluxe: 1600-1700 dinars (approximately $26-$27.5) Cyber Stompin' BB and Unleashed BB: 3650 dinars (approximately $60) Voice-Changer Helmet: 5500 dinars (approximately $90) Robot Heroes: 500 dinars (approximately $8.5) No Voyagers or Leaders yet. It also seems that a shipment of Cybertron Basics got here at the same time as the movie figs. I refuse to buy at those prices. I'd rather import.
We don't have Wal-marts, TRUses, Quicky-marts and any other type of 'marts here. We're just a backend of nowhere.......still. I concur. For the same or lower price you get them faster.
Sure. We've had them for about 20 years, although they've only started appearing in smaller towns recently.
There seems to be a real shortage of Transformers in many countries in that region. It'd be intriguing if an online service dedicated to bringing Transformers to far-away ladns at American prices plus shipping existed.
It'd only be intriguing for a short while, because a business that sold product at cost wouldn't last very long.
There is such a service. It's called Big Bad Toy Store. The only downside is that since june last year, our customs fine (sp?? fine - as in makes you pay) every shipment worth more than 24 USD or 20 euros, plus on that whole ammount (value + customse fine) you have to pay 18% PDV (aka tax). So when you do the math, you probably save a couple of bucks. So the only advantage of buying from BBTS is that you don't have to wait 6 months for the toys to get here. I'm off on weekend to buy me a classics Rody for 20 bucks.
To be fair, razorclaw, if you think that Classics Rody for $20 is an American price - you're absolutely off the mark.
NO, NO, NO, you missunderstood me. I didn't meant that American price is $20. That's the price you get for a dlx figure + shipping as, just as Basketball Jones said above about an "online service dedicated to bringing Transformers to far-away lands at American prices plus shipping". Just read my previous post again. You'll understand better then. Hell, I think Sammael, Grimbot and other known and unknown tf fans from Serbia on these boards WOULD DEFINITELY like to see tfs selling with american prices in our country, not to mention all other European fans here who would want the same thing.
Didn't realize BBTS shipped to Serbia- if so, they're probably the best way to handle such an affair.
I don't get the surprise about the prices. That's normal for almost every country outside of U.S., Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand and countries in South East Asia. Example: last week I finally found some Star Wars 30th Anniversary basic figures. I paid Bs.70000 for each. That's like $30. Judging by the Real Gear's price in Serbia, I'd say they're "cheap" there. And ... Venezuela's closer to the U.S. so shipping charges should be less than to Europe. Of course, if you take into account the taxes we have to pay for imported items over $100 (almost 31%), and the current currency exchange rate with american dollars, it's not surprising imported goods are so expensive. In my case it's usually better to order directly from BBTS or HLJ, but just because there's not an added tax if the total doesn't go over $100. -airfox
Wow, I got the voice-changer helmet for $30. I feel sorry for Serbians. But it's cool to finally have them though!
WOOHOO, frontpaged!!! Thanks, I'm itching to get me some classics later this week. Ah, but you see, we pay customs fine which is 20% of the value, for all shipments worth more then 24 USD. And on top of that we pay an 18% tax on the whole ammount (value of the goods + customs fine). That comes to more than 30% and that's for all goods worth more than 24USD. Real bummer. They have to "protect" the local market.
