I get depressed every time I'm reminded of this, my Megs was one of the 50+ that were seized :( .

That permission quote is a load of crap; from what they told me I pretty much can't get permission for it since they've classified it as a prohibited firearm (at least in NSW). What's worse is that I can't even send it back to HLJ since they said I need a bloody export license to do that.

Bottom line - I can't keep it and I can't send it back :cry

I love the idea of tight gun control. The only problem is that while little Johny is putting all his customs dollars into stealing plastic guns from Transformer nerds there are thousands of real guns being shipped in by the container load. WTF.

The best way to get it is to get friends or relatives to mail it out of box. Do not label the value and put "From Aunt May" on the box. They are probably targeting know sources, and only while its popular. In my experience the number one cause of having a package opened is a dollar value on the box/paperwork. They open it for the tax and keep it once they see whats inside.

It is SO great that Megatron is illegal in a lot of places. Think about how appropriate that is. They should allow the GEORGEOUS masterpiece meg into countries and on the principle of quality NOT allow the HORRIBLE Movie Megatron in. That would be justice.

This happened to a guy at MacrossWorld about a month ago. I thought someone had mentioned it.

I'm sure the toys will just get destroyed. The government isn't going to keep hoards of plastic toys. Well, I hope they wouldn't.

Anybody have a friend in customs? Maybe they could disappear before destruction.

When people think they're better than Transformers, rights get trampled. 1 more atrocity in the name of 'security'.:(

Are they eventually gonna release the Megatrons?

OK so you know we are getting newspapers onto this, aswell as talking to the local government.
It is a joke due to the fact of all the toy guns you can buy from every toy store.

    Hey hey,

I would just like to thank Phorpus for, in a way, clearing my name. Alot of people didn't believe me when I first posted that this would happen a few months ago,

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=128407

and some even thought it was an April Fools joke even though that day was over. So thanks Phorpus :D

I still can understand though why ppl would have thought my first post ridiculous, it still sounds ridiculous. I had one of my mates around here and he took one look at it and said "If you went in to a store and tried to hold them up with that they'd just laugh at you". I mean come on, its huge, its a pistol with a huge sight :S and its got large Decepticon faction symbols on it.

To all those that did get their's seized though, damn. Are they giving you an option to return it to who you bought it off and get your money back or are they just talking them home for their kids???

Thought the whole idea of the orange plug was to avoid this problem.

However, if someone was to jam that into my back at an bank machine, how would I know the difference?
