IDW Panel Coverage from Wizard World LA + Furman Interview

Chris Ryall led a panel at Wizard World, he talked a little about some of the upcoming TF projects there. You can read the whole article, which also goes into IDW's other books, here, at Comic Book Resources.

Quote:
Next up were a few Transformers projects, including "Megatron: Origin," written by Eric Holmes with art by Alex Milne. This four issue mini will debut in May, and looks at Megatron "before he went bad," according to Ryall. The "Spotlight" series books will have a new installment focusing on Galvatron, written by an fave Simon Furman with art by Guido Guidi. Don Figueroa will also be working on an Optimus Prime book in September.

Also:

Quote:
One fan asked a number of questions regarding crossovers, including the possibility of working with the "Star Wars" universe. Ryall said, "We talked about 'Star Wars,' since they've got those figures that transform, like Boba Fett that changes into Slave I."

"They do?" Lynch asked, looking surprised, before making as though he was gonna run out of the panel to find one.

"Lucas wasn't a big fan of that," Ryall continued, ignoring Lynch, "but we're doing the Avengers crossover. I don't want to do a glut of Transformers crossovers because they lose their specialness."
They've also got the Megatron: Origin Issue 2 Cover, and some art of pre-Earth Hound from the Galvatron Spotlight, designed by Guido.

UPDATE: Added a link to a Furman interview regarding the Galvatron Spotlight, credit goes to Somebody for his post here

I assume it is something to do with his gladiatorial roots.
And good eye on spotting Cy-Kill, I missed that!

I figured that Megs used to be a construction vehicle, myself.

Thus the markings.

lol I thought that was Cy-Kill when I saw the pic. The mini-series looks like it's going to be awesome.

Also, that Hound art is badass.

Poor poor Cy-Kill. Anytime he's shown in a Transformers comic he's torn apart.
My feedback

well well well.. to me that looks like megatron was a miner! look at his pickaxe and his surroundings in the second picture.. also look at soundwave in the background with the yellow and black stripes too.

rising up and overthrowing his autobot masters eh.. who'd have thought it, megatron is a rebel hero

my guess is that he works in an energon mine slaving away all day to get energy for the autbots, and decides 'fuck this, im not working for them, i'm being my own boss and taking it for myself'

lol, Cy-kill officially pwned.

I really was wondering what's up with all the warning stripes all over Megatron... Guess he's a blue collar bot after all. And Soundwave, too, weird... I think I can even make out Thundercracker, Skywarp, and Starscream in there as well, Apparently the Decepticons really did crawl out of a hole in the ground. This should be an interesting read.
