It seems the weakest link in the cast is Fox; she sounds like she can't act herself out of a wet paper bag. That said, in that one set report about her acting... Bay wasn't above being an arse and basically ad libbing and scaring her for real to get the right reaction from her.

Some days, it pays to be an arsehole.

I've got an update for you as well. Since my own Dutch fanforum will be linked to the Dutch Transformers the movie website, I got some info.

The project manager for the Dutch release was at the 20 minutes preview. He described the movie as a mix between War of the Worlds and Independence Day.

Humour and warmth, but not a kid's movie. Scene's that will blow you away. Accessible for all to see, no background of the cartoons or toys required.

That's what I've been telling the movie will be like for months... and anyone who read the script would have been blind not to see. And this, ladies and gents, is the problem.

The movie shouldn't focus all the way on the 'alien robots invasion' thing, totally sidelining that said alien robots have personalities and emotions... Unless heavy changes were made, we'll see a lot more human only scenes, and the interaction between the robots is not too well-worked out. If 'humor' is like that scene with the Bots trying to hide in Sam's garden,or what BB does to the agents... well I wouldn't call that humor at all.

If said project manager would have described the movie "as a mixture of War of the Worlds and Spiderman" that would have been much better news. Unfortunatly,I knew months ago what to expect, so no surprises here.

You left out an OBVIOUS positive

That to me is the most important part as it almost guarantees that non-fans could potentially enjoy this movie. And truthfully you can't say for concrete there'll be more human scenes without seeing the movie. And the War of the Worlds/Independance Day comparrison might be because those 2 are the closest movies he can think of. That doesn't neccesarily mean it'll be more humans then robots

Agreed. Fortunately, it was clearly stated on the front page that:

    EDIT: Emphasis mine.

I can not fully agree with you here. You may think it will be a movie about invading aliens, but what about the scenes from the Hasbro preview event?

It's very clear, from those previews, that, at least the Autobots, have emotions and are very human alike. Bumblebee miming to Spike to be quiet so that Spike's dad won't discover them, Bumblebee helping Spike with Megan by putting on certain things, one of the Autobots lifting Megan Fox up and putting her inside Spike's bedroom...

I mean, those aren't really things aliens would do. The Autobots act very human like.

Give this movie a chance, do not judge until you have seen the freakin' movie, like you can NEVER judge a person just by his or her looks.

    ;)

Anyway: WHAT's KEEPING THE SPECIAL TREAT, TONY???

    :D  :D
