Who says? Just because I don't hold it up to the paradigm of animation and TF design and storytelling doesn't mean I don't appreciate it. Far from it.

    Good Riddance.

just because we arent scared of change doesnt mean we arent appreciative of the originals. after all, why did i buy the original series on dvd? the original movie 3 times-1 on vhs 2 on dvd? why wont i get rid of my g1 toys? why wont i get rid of my g1 comics? why did i buy classics? why is my screenname taken from g1?

yup, no appreciation there. energon or nothing!!!

Dude, we appreciate G1, if that's what you mean. But most of us have grown out of seeing only G1 as "Transformers" and not just robots that transform. I can accept Beast Wars and RiD and Armada, and even Beast Machines as actually being Transformers. The movie looks to be much closer to G1 than any of those were, so arguments that it's not Transformers at all seem exceptionally silly to me.

I remember what I was like when Beast Wars first came out. I was like some of the people here now. I was absolutely mortified. I'm just happy that I at least didn't go online to rant about it to strangers. But I remember what the shock of change is like. I grew out of it after a couple of years, but I regret missing out on a lot of cool stuff in the meantime. The sooner you learn to get over your shock and offense, the better off you'll be.

Now, y'see folks, here's what the proper reply to something this utterly nutty is:

If you respond, all they do is respond back with something even more nutty. And hence the thread loses it original purpose. If everyone just puts people like this on Ignore, just imagine how much more fun movie threads will be-- we'll all have a great discussion, and he'll be essentially just talking to himself. Well, and a few other people, I guess, but not enough to matter. The problem is, if you respond to them, you quote them. And then, because I don't have YOU on ignore, I read their comments anyway.

So just use your list, people!

Ooo, I should start a campaign-- "Just Ignore It." With a picture of the "Update Ignore List" button for a picture. Hmm.....

His mouth and jaw move under the mask. He has a mouth, it's under a mask, it moves and you see it. Mouth. Mask. Moving. Plus around three quarters of his lines are said without the costume on. You can see his mouth in those scenes.

Any minute now someone's going to use the phrase "real fan." I can feel it.

This isn't G1. Cybertron/Galaxy Force isn't G1. Armada isn't G1. This movie isn't about G1, it's a new "series", just like Cybertron, Energon, Armada, and RiD were. If you like Transformers, odds are that we didn't all start with G1. Some people might have picked it up with Beast Wars, others with Armada.

    What this surprise we're getting?

Yeah, we've had the true fan bit, the paid to like things bit, the "you'll like anything" bit, and the notorious childhood rape bit, all in one fantastic thread! This thread covers all the bases!

If this film does ok, but would still bomb at the box office (in studio terms), Michael Bay's status would probably be the same as Shoemacher's right after Batman 3 + 4.

IMHO, I still think this movie blows. I guess that it would be in the opening 5 for two / two & a half weeks, but then it would bomb the box office.
I would like to stand corrected cause if the worse happens, it may affect the franchise.

I;m not getting involved with those intransigent bigots posting earlier (dictionary-accurate defination, not 'name calling') - They're already on my "ignore list"

Glad to read that the preview was so popular, even with some doubters.
I expected "campy" scenes too - even ARMGEDDON, a film about the end of the world, had plenty of camp early on. When it needed to 'get going', it did with a vengeance and I see TF working to the same template (given the broad target audience).

Really, REALLY more excited than ever about this movie now...

Skipped the entire thread after the OP (red text above has me happy I did so ;)  ).

Use of the original TF sound = WOOO! I have missed it.

As for Prime having a mouth under his faceplate, it's hardly new or shocking to me. BW Primals aside, Galaxy Force/Cybertron Prime had -exactly the same deal-.

Can we refer to the Ignore List as Ironhide from now on? Cause it always has your back and is darn useful.

Back on subject: I'm glad they aren't overtly serious and actually injected some humor into this film.
