nice, first the toy and now this, pretty sweet. I hope we get more of these soon.

I like the black but a dark red, burgundy color could've worked good for him as well .

Once again, the movie designs just look too spikey and all over the place. Overall, it doesn't look bad in that pose, but I can't see it working well when he's running all over the place on the big screen. Personally, I think the designs are way too busy and all seem to look alike to some degree. This photo is fuzzy, granted, but I'm disturbed by how much movie Ironhide resembles movie Megatron. There's also a huge difference between this design and the voyager-class figure we saw earlier today. I don't know. I just don't know...

EDIT: Why does Ironhide have two forearm-mounted BFGs, and Megatron gets none? It doesn't make sense.

Where do you keep finding this stuff?

Looks very interesting. The truck front really is his shoulders instead of his chest. Definitely looks like the bruiser of the Autobots.

    IRONHIDE!!!!!

So far Iron Hide is my favorite transformer. Well its a tie with Optimus Prime. I just love the toy the black color scheme and he is also armed to the teeth. But is it just me or is barricade the only decepticon that matches one of the autobots size? It seems like all of the decepticons are massive while the Autobots are pretty small. I mean I want to see robots that can go toe to toe with each other in a fist fight and if the final battle is between Optimus and Megatron in the Movie its going to be like a Midget against a teenager. Not that a midget couldnt win I am just talking size wise

I like the toy-but as with some of the others-I think the peeps who designed these guys just got way too busy with there bodies! sometimes less is more with detail-a smooth surface here and there would have been nice, I feel like I would cut my hands if I touched these guys. I understand the whole not being blocky but c'mon, if you squint your eyes they look like a worshack test...

Awesome alt mode. Too bad that awesome-ness didn't carry over into the robot mode.

But, he is better than Starscream.

Looks to be pretty much as expected in corresponding to the other designs. Is it just me though or does his toy version look so much better?

    NOT CGI!

Concept art, from this past summer, note the "Work In Progress" text.

@EDComics, dude, the reason Ironhide looks like this, is SO HE CAN RUN ALL OVER THE PLACE! If he was all boxy like G1, no matter how much we wish it was like G1, he would not have the same articulation. And also, the reason he has the arm-mounted guns, and megs does not, is as we all know, megs is far more powerful, and does not require the same obvious weapons. Dude, you only got to watch the opening 10 mins of the '86 movie to know what I mean!

PS. I also wish it was like G1, but the more I see of the designs, the more I see how it could work... hey the movie could still suck, but lets have an open mind here.

Actually that looks like a digital concept art painting. Still counts as a Computer Graphics Image. CGI isn't limited to only 3D graphics. It's not a 3D render, though. I image we'll get images of that later. Have we seen these concept art pages for all of the characters now? Maybe not Brawl and a couple others. Hmm...

Hm. A bit too blurry to make anything out, but I agree with the people whom are saying that he looks a bit busy. I like the overall basics that I can make out of the design and, interestingly enough, he looks different from his toy counterpart. Overall, I like the toy design better than the movie design once again. Of course, these guys could look a lot better on the big screen, but... meh... who knows? I'm just not a fan of the jagged robot modes these guys are getting.

I never said it had to be slavishly accurate to the G1 design. This is just too out of left field. The point I was trying to make is that the busier these designs are, the more difficult it's going to be to make sense of what's going on when these characters show up on screen. When they're just standing around, it'll be ok, but as soon as they start fighting, it's just going to be blurry and worthless, as has happened with a lot of other SciFi/action films heavily laden with CGI.

Regarding Megatron, it's as I've always said -- if you're going to change it THIS MUCH, you should call it something else. If you gave Superman a suit of armor and a mohawk, he would cease to be Superman. Take away Megatron's fusion cannon and cover him in metal spikes and he ceases to be Megatron. That's an old argument, though. I'm just saying that each final movie design we see is disappointing to me.
