A few online stores got the upcoming Walgreens exclusive Titans Return Brainstorm in early - we got one, and we're now sharing a full-scale gallery of the Autobot scientist with you!

A Deluxe class figure, Brainstorm is a remold of Titans Return Blurr, but he does enough with the design to get his own identity. Robot mode is on-point for the look of the Generation 1 toy, while the vehicle mode does miss the mark slightly, being a bit too sleek and elongated due to being a Blurr remold. Two things that particularly bothered me on the design were the way the guns on the nose of the jet no longer become Brainstorm's handguns - though the whole part becomes a cool shield / armcannon - and also how the canopy does not completely enclose the cockpit. Minor quibbles, but they throw off some of the look and enjoyment of the toy for me. The robot mode does have a decent amount of poseability though, and Brainstorm can strike some good poses, so no complaints there.

By making Brainstorm an exclusive, he'll be a bit harder to track down, but we'd say he'll be worth it to have all of the Headmasters together in the same aesthetic and scale. Check out his gallery after the break to see for yourself.

Titans Return Brainstorm sporting a briefcase - made by Megamoonman on Shapeways. The briefcase fits nicely into the hand, and the clasp goes around the wrist well enough. The cable that links the two is a little springy, but it looks good enough for display.

"By making Brainstorm an exclusive, he'll be a bit harder to track down"

I doubt it. I don't know anyone who has struggled to find any Hasbro exclusive at a Walgreens. Each store usually gets 3 - 8 figures at one time and if it's like their Marvel Legends Punisher that just came out, all coasts will get stock at once.

It's easier to find Walgreens figures than it is to find regular release figures on the shelves, imo. Once the reports appear that they start hitting, most people will find one fairly easily. Walgreens does a good job making sure people can get their exclusives.

I'm still happy with my 2014 Generations Brainstorm. It is a cool figure, it's just a bit superfluous for me.

(I'm also happy with my 2010 Generations Blurr, so I guess I'll be skipping this mold entirely unless they remold it into someone without a recent toy)

yep. those 2 things really would have gone a long way to making him perfect ~ the open cockpit is such a specific detail to Blurr.

For bonus points i would have remolded the back of the lower leg piece to beef it up and add 2 stabilizers instead of the middle single one that is another detail that really calls attention to this being "Blurr with wings" in alt mode.

The bot mode though really works amazingly well.

Looks great, but I love the older Voyager so this is a pass for me. I also agree that Walgreen's exclusives tend to be easier to find. Not sure if that will go for this guy, but in my hood, he will be priced $19.99 so that tends to keep people from hoarding.

It is hard to usee Blur in Alt mode.

    Custom ideas -

somehow chop the guns off the nose then add 5mm ports/sockets so he can hold the guns?

    Add double tail fins.

.......they should've made Hardhead a Voyager or the lot.

    Not bad at all.

    Here's hoping he'll hit Walgreen's soon.

I have to try to get this guy. I just got Blurr and realized he's a great toy that happens to be kinda ugly.

He's glorious. Absolutely glorious. While I have no doubt I will find one due to the fact their are about 10 Walgreens stores on my way to and from work, I pre-ordered the Legends version just in case.

    And I wanted it.

Tease! I have one ordered and it's the mail; leaving me with maddening bouts of anticipation - Looks to be IMO the most perfect version of him to date (that bot mode and matching g1 stickers are amazing), and I actually love his vehicular mode as I always thought the G1 version looked a little too clunky/boxy for a cybertronian jet.

I'm looking forward to getting this guy, I think he looks great. Despite having the previous Generations version, I would still like a Brainstorm that fits in better (both aesthetically and scale-wise) with the other TR figures. The older version can hang out on a different shelf.

That being said, looking at that comparison shot of the three toys, I think Thrilling 30 Brainstorm was actually a more faithful update of the original toy. It didn't have a stumpy proportions that the TR version and G1 version share, but in terms of visual elements and color placement (grey part above the chest cockpit, grey fists and thighs, teal bits on the ankles, etc.) it's actually a closer match.

    Both good figures, for sure.

I dunno if I should get this. I love LOVE the previous Legends Brainstorm but now he is out of scale with the rest of his headmaster buddies.

I don't care about the scale with the other Headmasters, but I haven't even gotten around to opening the Voyager one, which I figured I'd be more than happy with. Seeing these pics, with them all side by side, I'm no longer as certain about skipping this one...

I loved the Generations figure previously, but this new figure destroys it, imo, in terms of what I want in a Brainstorm figure.

Seeing them side by side, it's hard to believe I was ever satisfied with the Generations figure. Almost as hard as it is to believe they tricked me into buying 2 figures of the same character in such quick succession.
