What did he say his name was?

    Galvatron!

Yes, our next gallery is the bigger, badder reincarnation of Megatron who debuted in Transformers the Movie, Galvatron. A Voyager class, this version of Galvatron transforms into robot, space cannon, and spaceship modes. Robot and cannon modes are both very faithful to the look of the original character, while the spaceship is new and looks a bit haphazard, like it was an afterthought added when a memo came back asking for a third mode. The robot mode has decent poseability - with waist articulation and even ankle tilts - though the Titan Master "faceplate helmet" gimmick means head movement is close to non-existent. Coupled with how this faceplate does not really work for Galvatron - the face is too recessed - and it throws off the look of what is otherwise the best Galvatron we've had to date. There's also an issue with the arm articulation - it is hampered when the cannon is attached - though this is more forgivable since that was the original design. If you are willing to shell out on extra accessories, both of these issues can be remedied via add ons from Shapeways. I should also mention the Titan Master, who is essentially a little Megatron - he's a cool way of representing how Megatron becomes Galvatron, and completely in line with the line's gimmick.

Overall - Titans Return Galvatron remains one of the best versions of the character which we have seen since the inception of the Classics line. While not without flaws, he is a lot of fun to play with - a factor which he has in common with all of the Titans Return toys to date. Check out his gallery below:

If you do not deploy the faceplate, Galvatron loses his iconic crown - but gains more head articulation.

A neat detail on the cockpit - the three bars mimic the Generation 1 techspec readout feature of the original Headmasters.

    Nice pics!

Man Galvatron is one guy it seems is really hard to do right in plastic form. Thankfully this one is really well done, if just a little more work was needed on the head gimmick.

Just need to remove that daft looking 3 mode cockpit then wait for the inevitable 3rd party head to eliminate the shoehorned headmaster gimmick. These parts were clearly never intended for this mould.

I wonder how Galvatronus' head would look on TR Galvatron...

I like Hasbro's purple but I went with Takara because of the additional paint. Megatron's paint is more appealing than Nucleon's. And Galvatron's tank treads are much better looking with grey paint instead of Hasbro's unpainted purple.

I didn't know about the tech spec feature in the cockpit. I like it. Despite the head, I love this figure. Favorite in the line so far until Hot Rod and Megatron are released.

I like this Titans Return Galvatron, but I wish I could love it. It really is the best new version and successor of the G1 toy we've gotten from HasTak ever, especially compared to the dismal CHUG version. It's a good update of the classic character aside from the rather unnecessary, & superfluous, "Space Jet" mode, and the whole pitiful head & mask/crown arrangement.

The bot-mode and laser-cannon mode are well done and the colors are good, but the cool little Megatron/Nucleon Titan Master does poorly as an un-painted, awkward-fitting head. Actually the fault lies mainly with the mask/crown gimmick and the unfortunate encumbrance of articulation caused by it.

I don't mean to be coarse, but can a robot have a "Butter Face"? Because Galvatron' s overall head-gimmick is a sad failure both functionally & aesthetically. It leaves me disappointed that both Hasbro & Takara missed the mark in producing a faithful G1 head. 3P's should have already jumped on this opportunity by making a better all-in-one head/crown Nucleon/Mini-Megatron, or by creating just a simple head-mold with great G1 accuracy.

Bottom line for me, I like TR Galvatron, I think his overall mold is pretty good, his Hasbro-colors are great, and his bot & cannon modes are well-done. The jet is barely passable, and the Mini-Megs/Nucleon is OK, but the head/crown mess nearly ruins the whole thing. I'll buy it, but I'm getting a better 3P Titan Master or just a re-molded head as soon as one exists, and when I see one I like. My favorite G1 homage Galvatron figures remain both Hasbro & Takara versions of Energon Megatron & Galvatron. The Leader Energon Galvatron is hefty, beautifully colored, and has an excellent head/face sculpt.

TR Galvatron only passes with a "C+", but the pics in this gallery get an "A"!

It looks fine as long as you're okay with the fact the purple on Galvatronus doesn't match the purple on Galvatron.

But someone will just come by and say "OMG you're wrong the head is comically huge!!!" without realizing that the faces are actually the same size.

Definite improvement over the previous version but I think his cannon is too big and everyone has a problem with his head. I may still buy him though.

    Idk

Robot mode is all good but you can't really use any of the other heads because the crown and faceplate don't fit around them

    Jet mode sucks

Gun mode, the part that flips underneath him can't be placed according the directions because then the legs don't hit the ground

Still a better version than the Generations from a few years back

Other than the mask and the canon mode not pegging together, I think this is a decent figure.

Love the canon mode and the jet mode.

    Great gallery man.

The Leader Superlink/ Energon Galvatron General toy is better than this, IMO.

But, having said that, the body design and cannon modes are pretty on point. Shame about the derpy face and out of proportioned helmet.
