LOL at those that are complaining about "bad animation". The character models are clean, they move smoothly, and other than Megatron, you can see the actual transformation take place instead of it just being an animated blob that turns into a different shape.

Christ, we finally get a show that brings back G1-style character designs, and all you do is bitch about how short the show is, the voice acting, and animation is. Growing up as fans has made you a bunch of intolerable assholes with the patience of a toddler.

Maybe it's because you pointed out the only good thing...the rest is either okay to borderline terrible. It's okay to expect more as long as one is prepared for disappointment. But I think I can speak for most in saying we didn't expect to be THIS disappointed...

exile in fiction can mean different things in this context it appears they are in the badlands of cybertron in an abandoned arena. which as megatron started as a pit fighter makes sense as its a place where he feels comfortable.

megatron is fighting constucticons because hes bored and wishes to keep his skills sharp, the constructicons probably are still semi loyal to him.

the disappearance is probably down to the animation budget being low not having enough money to paint them in every scene.

The animation is anything but fluid. Did you bother to watch the second episode? When Starscream flies to the Council's base, the animation was horrible and rigid. When the Constructions drove towards Megatron at the beginning of episode 4, the animation was clanky and rough. And don't even start on the lip syncs...
We "bitch about how short the the show is". If you're not a fan of exposition, or knowing what is going on, then yeah, the time constraint shouldn't bother you. I like knowing what's going, so back stories are appreciated.
The voice acting is horrendous. Windblade's VA is too busy being Edgelord Maximus, and makes me cringe whenever I hear her speak. She is one of the worst Voice Actors I've heard since I took an interest in Voice Acting.
Jon Bailey isn't allowed to use his talent of voice acting, and is shoe-horned into being dull and lifeless.
The only actors who were casted right (and did a good job) are Ben Pransky (Rodimus Prime), Megatron, and Patrick Seitz (Devastator). The only reason I'm continuing to watch the show is to see more of Megatron, and Patrick Seitz as Devastator.

    They absolutely do not.

    This is true.

But that's besides the point, this show is still terrible.

Okay, NOW it's actually starting to grow on me a bit.

I love the idea of Megatron finding peace in exile, and Prime still being restless. I love the idea of Prime still being unable and unwilling to end Megatron, and the consequences of that. I love Windblade giggling at Megatron's teasing of Prime's "transform and roll out" catchphrase, like he's this old anachronism (which he is, but that's why we love him right?) And I especially love Megatron's, "You. You I hate with all my heart. But if there's one thing I hate more, it's that IDIOT Starscream. I'm in." Lol.

Maybe it's just that now there are more characters together on screen, so there's some room for chemistry? I don't know, but it works. Still not fantastic or anything, but for what it is I'm now enjoying it more with each episode! At least it's a G1-centric animated fiction taking place after the war. Which is all I've ever wanted in a new animated TF series, but have yet to ever get so... I'll take it! Lol. Better than nothing.

Interesting. Why did you try to defend it, and what made you change your mind?

I tried to defend it because it was something new and for adults or so they said. Episodes only 5 minutes long so i didnt want to judge too harshly. Im still not going to judge too harshly now but its definitely not what i had in mind.

The 5 minute constraint and the Prime saying of "well, this is going to be mature" are the worst offenders of this series. This series is no different than a TVY7 program. Now, if we had mature language, philosophical ideas and questions, energon and transgore everywhere, and a storyline that was actually dark, and not "hey look, it's Edgelord Maximus, things are about to get dark and edgy", then this show would be dark. It didn't help that Windblade tried to act edgy for most of Episode 4, and then giggles at the end. If you're trying to make a character dark, showing humor completely destroys any chance of that characterization working.

Patrick Seitz sounds awesome as Devastator. That was actually good Voice Acting.
The stop motion video was too quick. If the creator of the video had slowed the video down somewhat, it would've been better.
Victorion feels like the new Windblade. She's half the size of Devastator, and of course she's going to defeat him in the series.

I don't like this series, but I agree. The Megatron voice reminds me of the raspy Animated Megatron voice, which is nice.

These are some of the stiffest-moving robots in Transformers media.

Also, in this episode it seems like they used the veil of dust to hide how crappy the Constructicon transformations were. And why was Megatron fighting the Constructicons?

    It's a lot different.

Because a TVY7 program would have to work with the Writers Guild, and thus, would have had to use a professional writer who would've actually understood craft. Whether you like any particular TVY7 program, there are at least minimum requirements needed to belong to the Guild. But any banana can write a web series, apparently. Experience or talent: optional

The writers guild doesn't necessarily mean good quality. Just look at Revenge of the Fallen.

Then look at Red VS Blue. See?

Yeah, I hate to point this out to you, but RotF, as bad as it is, is MILES better-written than this. It's awful, but the characters actually interact, dialogue exposes character, exposition is doled out evenly and much more naturally, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc....

Nice try, using the universal TF whipping post, but no dice. Not even close.

And before you try it, Energon is a million times more competently-written, as well.

I wouldn't dare suggest anything written by a Writers Guild member automatically has to be good. Terrible stuff gets foisted on us every day. But there are minimum requirements for membership, including a minimum standard understanding of craft that this web series falls WELL below.

    And lol@ Rooster Teeth. :rolleyes2

I'd still like to know what took them so darned long to write this "show".
