Didn't see this posted here. Prime One has released promotional images of their amazing Megatron statue. Looks even better than Optimus did, and that headsculpt is dead on.

I don't like statues and it's way out of my price range anyway, but damn I do like that as a take on Megatron. Would not mind a Voyager toy of that design one day.

IMO he looks like the Nerf-gun Megatron, just without the wings.

Looks cool but too rich for my blood. I still prefer the concept art version with the tank treads making a caped look.

But I dig the snow shoes.

If the movie designs looked more like this I'd be more inclined to give them a second chance.

As a statue and collectible, this is Awesome! It's one of those things I can admire from afar and wish for, but could never really afford. The design, however though not strictly G1, does something really cool. It synthesizes the G1 origins of the character with the detailed elements of the Aligned & Bay-verse aesthetics.

This is what I want a Movie-verse Megatron to look like! The new Bay-verse ram-horned design is drawing a lot of attention, and though it is somewhat of of an improvement on the previous version(s), this is much more faithful to Megatron's original design. This strikes a good balance between the ultra-detail or "shredded metal" look of the Bay-verse characters, with the more solid-looking & squarish G1 style of the old cartoon and the old toy.

Even the WFC & FOC games, TF: Prime, & IDW Megatrons had highly-detailed designs that could have translated well to the Movie-verse, whose designs are still rather generic and look like men made up of scrap-metal strips.

Put this in the films with Frank Welker's voice acting (plus just the right amount of sfx added) to bring it to life, and there'd be a lot of very happy fans. The design is just enough G1 to satisfy many older fans, but "modern" and detailed enough to fit well into the Bay-verse aesthetic for the "Big Screen". This is also generalized enough to transform it into whatever vehicle they can come up with. Adding wings, tank treads, wheels, a turret, or guns to this base robot-mode would be a very simple thing to do.

Bottom line, I think that it's the best of both worlds G1 & Bay-verse and I like it! :thumb

If we get a voyager toy out of that design, I'll buy it. Not only does it invoke a G1 aesthetic but also had a more 'Cybertronian' like feel about it.

Yeah, I wished the movie designs were like this!

Eh, I still maintain that the existing Movie designs are good enough for the movies they're in. Heck, I think Megatron's newest movie design is already loads better than any of the previous four, so that's saying something.

I do wish Hasbro would make toys of THESE designs, though...even if I have a slight preference for Nizzi's "tread-cape" design over this one. :D

Meh... Cool looking statue but I honestly don't think it justifies the price.

The price is a bit much for a statue. And I'm kinda glad the movie designs don't look like this. I mean, I hope I don't come off as mean, but the Transformers brand is 30 years old and there's more to it than just G1.

wasn't there already a thread on this? Or is there just another statue that looks similar? I can't remember. Either way this thing looks so bad-ass, I may have to take the plunge.

I cannot be said enough how fantastic it would have been for the movie characters to look this way.... especially Megatron.

I'll save my money and hope for Wei Jiang to do an oversized KO of one of the latest 3P Megatrons that's 1/12 the price. Now THAT would be awesome!
