I like this...just not sure if I thousand dollars like this.

 

We'll never know about the acceptance of a more G1 look to the movies, but I think WFC/FOC prove that you can update a look and put a modern design/edge on them but still keep enough elements to appeal to classic fans.

What I think is an unambiguous concern (and I grant that it got better with later movies) was the amount of unneeded details and little moving parts in the bot designs. There were so many fights that I saw and on the first (few) viewings of a hand to hand fight I wasn't really clear at first which bots were fighting (other than OP/BB) and when a bot got knocked back, I couldn't tell you right away which bot it was, or if it was a punch or a kick that landed that blow as the bot designs and the limb designs were just a mass of details without distinction/cohesion.

some of those fight scenes only made sense to me after repeated viewings and an action movie should not be an exercise in hyper vigilant viewing.

this stuff looks pretty sweet though... but I'm not in the habit of getting non-articulated/non-transforming stuff. those toys keep my wallet screaming as is. Love the photos tho guys.

Possibly but how realistic is hand gun for human to to hold on there hip while transformer of that size be in bot mode nice designs if megatron where to look like in movie what would be can't be gun be goofy generation 1 cartoon movie all over again megatron transforms into gun right size human to use, in another episode and animated movie megatron transforms into hand gun right size for starscream and Optimus prime to use in bot mode,

Animated cartoon is already goofy in some points hound with air mask underwater he's alien robot who breath in out space, and humans on cybertron with no space suits, frenzy riding thrust in jet mode jousting match with warpath

If Bay had tried to stay true to the spirit and mythology of TFs, which is G1, and will always be G1, there would be a lot more unity in TF fandom today. His arrogant approach has split fandom down the middle into this (still) bitter "us" versus "them" thing.

And to echo the sentiment....yes, if only the movie versions looked like this. This statue looks phenomenal!

For the huge price, I think it would be kind of neat if these statues came with a small figure of the intended alternate mode. I realize these designs probably don't even have a thought-out transformation scheme, but there must have been a specific alternate mode in mind, right? Optimus was clearly intended to be a truck. It would just be nice to see what the designer had in mind. I'm really wondering what that Megatron design is supposed to transform into.

 

I don't feel that way at all. I just don't feel like everything should be so G1 orientated all the time. I've always like the Bayverse movie former looks. They're kind of their own thing which I like instead of a full blown G1 fest.

I may not agree with everything that Bay has done with the movies but I still enjoy them. Regardless, I still would've watched them even if they had either designs. You can't blame it all on Bay for "Splitting up the fanbase" either.

I truly hope they will not stop there and try to get more characters in this same figure line! I guess no one has heard rumours about future releases or plans after this first set [?]

Lots of recognizable shapes, but also altered and amp'ed up in robo-greeble. Shoulders are kinda big though.

+1 for how movie megs should have looked. This is amazing.

 

Honestly I don't seel the appeal everyone else seems to.. looks more like a terminator then Megatron.
