The fur isn't working for me and neither are the cables in his legs and shoulders. WTF.

Oh well, it's a redesign so there's no use complaining about their style, it looks good for what it is. But I'm really glad MP Primal doesn’t look like this.

The base with the Waspinator parts is kick-ass though.

 

We live in a world where *this* EXISTS. Amazing. Never in my wildest dreams. I won't get it and can't afford it, but I'm delighted by it.

Primal

Whoooah! That Primal is so friggin' fantastic that it hurts!!! Also, I love the Waspinator kibble at his feet. That works in so many ways.

 

That looks awesome, and battle damaged Waspinator is the icing on the cake. Presumably it's just a statue though?

 

It is just a statue. All Prime 1 pieces are statues. Though it may have alternate pieces to "repose" it, like replacable arms in different poses.

 

Holy shit! I'm not really a statue guy but I REALLLLLY want this!

Is is bad that I'd totally buy a statue that was just a pile of Waspinator parts?  

 

Absolutely gorgeous. Thats one of the best Optimus head sculpts I've ever seen.

 

Stop buying toys for year you can afford if you really want it

 

In my heart, and back when MP Beast Wars were just a hope, this is what I wanted in a Masterpiece BW line. The cartoon models are, in my opinion, constrained by their time and technology, and I would have loved an updated, more "realistic" look for a premium format. Make the beast modes as natural-looking as possible, make the bot modes badass. I get that the whole MP "thing" seems to be cartoon accuracy though. But this statue is a true masterpiece in my book.

Damn. That is freaking beautiful, and the Waspinator bit, utterly adoring that right now. Right, this isn't enough, get the rest of the Beast Wars characters in statue format, including their alternative designs!  

 

Now this one is nice, a nice mix of animal and robot, but the robot is a touch more organic than G1, lots of robot sinew.

 

yep, the lack of molded fur detail on the MP BW figures is the main thing putting me off them, they just looks so awkwardly smooth. this is incredible.

 

Hummm...no not for me, despite looking cool it totally fails to capture the character in my opinion.

 

How so?

The headsculpt especially is dead-on for the character despite being more intricate and slightly redesigned.

 

I just thinks he looks a bit too....badass? The pose is generically macho, he's very stylised, gives more of a feral/animalistic feel, is overly muscular and seems to have recently murdered Waspinator lol. Lovely sculpt for sure it just doesn't feel/look like the Primal I know.

Great for those that like a reimagining but I'll pass.
