It's best to look at this as more of a Liokaiser homage than a proper G1 Liokaiser. With that in mind, I think this guy looks fantastic. The new heads really go a long way.

 

I'll wait for the Takara version.

Hellbat and Gayhawk both look good though. I hope Takara uses their Nosecone for Drillhorn and and remold the turrets for Killbison.

 

It looks like even the head on the Skylynx mold is retooled--I don't think Skylynx has that crest.

 

As somebody who doesn't have $600 to blow on a single combiner, I celebrate this boxed set. Hopefully they don't stop with Liokaiser.

 

The deco and sculpting on Leozaras is great. I've never been super keen on the symmetrical nature of the others.

I know. It's just that Liozack in particular is one of my favorite villains, so having him replaced with what is essentially a badass Nemesis Sky Lynx is... eh. I just think this set is missing the best part.

 

I'm a sucker for repaints. Bought.

 

Yeah, sorry for being smug. Even Radamanthus makes a great figure by himself if you have 100 to blow, though, so if you're like me and Liozack is your favorite of the team and it bums you out that he's barely even present in this set, eh... there's always that, or Mech Ideas' smaller take on the character to splurge on the side.

 

That's a LOT better than I was expecting! Those new heads!

Having said that, we're almost guaranteed now that we'll have a TT version done up even BETTER...

 

Looks great, but two Brawl molds means this isn't my thing.

 

I kinda sorta like the limbs but I hate the torso.

As I said in the other thread that Deszaras pisses me off. But the limb bots all look fantastic. I'm still hyped for the set and hoping Takara does an even better one, but I'm also massively disappointed by the torso.
On a side note one thing I'm wondering is if them having Killbison and Drillhorn's feet down is intentional. On the one hand we know Hasbro empleyees suck at transforming their figures. On the other hand in contrast to the less saturated looking images we get later and for the various Amazon shots, these tend to be transformed correctly. I'm inclined to think that maybe they intentionally wanted to give Liokaiser more height since he generally had a tall stature.

I HOPE Takara does it but they often seem to shy away from their own Destron characters. Aside from Black Shadow taking four years to get a realease, they also did an obscure G2 Autoroller instead of their own character Autocrusher.
IF they do Liokaiser it will be better. The one thing I might be doubtful of is that they would not include any Breastforce members. Those might end up being random exclusives cuz Takara does that kind of thing.

 

I've considered both of TFC's recent torso bots as standalones. Pretty cool looking. But it's hard to justify 100 for one figure when I can get a CW giftset for the same price. I don't think I'm gonna go for either Leozack in the end.

 

The 4 limbs look great but the center POS.... bleh!! Come on 3rd party Leozak and Jarguar hahah

I know about the TFC one but that's a bit pricy for what you get and I'd like them to be Combiner Wars scaled, not MP scaled.

 

No way will TT pass this up when the heads are already made. Even if they just retooled Silverbolt into Leozack, it's still loads better than this Deathsauras abomination. It's too bad because the other four bots look great.
