yeah price seems high for a deluxe, but you are getting the little vehicles that hasbro is selling separately so there is that.....Id rather them be cheaper and not include that as they do nothing for me personally but it is there.

Im a bit unsure on if I want chromedome, but I think Im in for the rest of the takara headmasters they just look more to my liking by comparison.....damn it

Only thing that Takara has over Hasbro for me in this line of Headmasters are the Anime accurate head sculpts for Chromedome & Hardhead. But that price and my tight budget does not allow me to afford spending over double the American price for them for just the head alone so I'll stick with Hasbro.

I know it's not the same thing, but the speakers are there in bat mode as sculpted detail.

Luckily for me, the Hasbro versions will do just fine. No way am I paying more than double for the Takara versions.

Agreed on the size, they should have made them Voyagers to match the G1 toy size.

Yeah, pity that they didnt make him as faithfull to the G1 toy as the others.
Hopefully PE can make somekind of upgrade set for him.

I guess I'll be getting Chromedome and Highbrow to display in alt-mode (I'll be getting the TR ones to display in robot mode) , but I'm happy with Hasbro Mindwipe.

Well the colors do look nicer on Chromedome, especially for his wheels. Don't think I'd bite this time. Not even sure I'd go for Hasbro's at this point either.

Highbrow can't really say one way or the other. It does look like Takara's head is indeed the more rounded Headmaster cartoon version versus Hasbro's more boxy. Just really can't say whether I really even want Hightbrow right now.

Takara's Mindwipe does look nicer, but it's a pass for me. Never had interest in him in the first place. Just no attachment to the character at all.

Kind of funny how so many people are complaining about $40 dollar deluxes, yet say nothing at how the Leader class is now shooting closer to $80.

Need to see better pics of Highbrow and Mindwipe, but I think I'm okay with getting the Hasbro versions of those two. Chromedome, though. Oh boy, he just looks sooooo good with that Headmasters head. If I can, I'm definitely going Takara for him.

Hmm, still undecided on these vs Hasbro. I want an IDW chromedome, so it was always going to be Hasbro for him, but Mindwipe and highbrow? Will need to see clearer pictures of their faces to be sure.
I'm surprised a third party company hasn't revealed compatible heads for this line.

I'm not really feeling Takara's figures for these guys.

What makes Hardhead and Skullcruncher's Takara figures appeal to me more is that they look more like IDW's versions.

I get they're based off the Japanese Headmasters designs the heads but they don't appeal to me much.

They mean Takara's version of Titans Return Brainstorm, not the Generations Voyager.

As others have said, it's the strength of the yen

Right now Hardhead and Skullcruncher on hlj are 4,000 Yen (3,200 if preorder at hlj)

So if you buy them when released and the yen is still roughly 100 to the $1, then they are $40. Which is basically what BBTS is charging for Chromedome and Mindwipe. So the old price just reflects what the $ to yen was. At the time they put up pre-orders, I believe the rate was 120 yen to $1.

Oh, yeah!! These look great, and they're sticking with the "OG Headmasters get a transforming weapon" deal. Interesting (and flipping awesome) that Mindwipe gets his own coloured Crashbash.. I'm.gonna have an army of mini Titan T-rexes when I'm done! (this makes me very happy)

But after a long look, they are quite a bit different.
