Nobody knows for sure, but from photos I'd say they don't. They look better from certain angles, but it seems its like that for Godbomber compatibility.

Of course if that's the case, then as I've said time and time again, there's always Shapeways to fix that.

The downside of that however is that this is an almost $90 purchase, at least from us stores. Having to buy unpainted and unfinished pieces from shapeways is a hard pill to swallow for a purchase of this price for some

Shapeways has metallic plastic, but I see your point...it's like buying Perfect Effect parts to fix the Combiners...oh wait.

I know. I'm just saying companies make mistakes, and feet aren't a dealbreaker.

Wow, even as a kid I though PM Prime (the toy, not the design) looked super crap - he's a major brick, his arms are too short, his head to big, the inner bot has the terrible cheating transformation with the faux chest Windows ~ wasn't until I saw GG as an adult that he made sense ~ love the wings, the add-ones fix his terrible proportions, and the rocket launcher is sweet.

Same for me. Exactly the same.

I had no childhood connection to the Super Ginrai/PMOP figure. It was only after God Ginrai got reissued that the figure/character made sense to me. I now like PMOP as a Marvel Comics character, but as a toy, the G1 PMOP figure is only an ugly midpoint between cool Ginrai and super cool God Ginrai.

What about those of us who justify it because of the lower cost, Scrounge, and a preference for their Strafe?

Also, I badly want this figure. But I don't $100 want it. In that case, PMOP will suit me fine.

I wonder if they'll paint these details.

I'm still hoping the feet retract in a manner up into the hollow portion of the leg similar to Ultra Magnus or move around enough to provide varying configurations. Looking at the base mode, it appears the entire unit can at least rotate in the opposite direction, and that "toe" looks hinged at the base. As was mentioned previously, Alex Milne's recent illustration actually shows that toe protruding forward like a foot.

If not, I'll have to do some tinkering. I just can't get behind the stilts, but I love everything else.

When I first saw pics of this guy, I wanted to kick myself for jumping on PM OP. But then I saw the price tag and felt a lot better. If Ginrai had even been $20 more than PM, I would have wished I'd waited. But at nearly $100? I mean, I mostly collect Masterpiece and 3P Masterpiece at this point. PM OP I got just because it's fun to have, but $100 is a good chunk of what it will cost to get Sovereign, Carnifex, Mightron, Grassor, etc.

You guys are getting killed on shipping. Mine (pre-order price) was about $60. Under $70 shipped.

Which, I'll agree is kind of a lot for a Generations figure already... But with how much Leaders are going for in the US now, I'll take $70 as being a reasonable price, considering all the improvements.

Amiami. I think they still have him for 6300 yen, too (around $61 at the moment). It's just a question of how much shipping will cost for you.

I agree that if the price with shipping came to $90 or more, I'd likely learn to live with Hasbro PMOP, which is great looking on its own, anyway.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually searched them earlier, but didn't see it, probably because they're spelling his name "Jinrai" instead of "Ginrai" for some reason. But yeah, with that 30% off and the stuff I already have pre-ordered for December, he's a lot more tempting now.

"Jinrai" is phonetically right, actually. It's "Ginrai" that is the weird spelling, except Japan has been mis-romanizing the name since the 1980s.

But yeah, a couple places online have this and other Masterforce Ginrai items listed under "Jinrai" so always remember to check both spellings in your searches.

I don't know. I kind of like the feet myself. They remind me more of the Masterforce cartoon look. Besides the PMOP mold leaves a few things to be desired.

I preordered through amiami. They're always reliable and have good prices.

PM prime was my first transformer that I got for my 4th birthday and my favorite for years so I knew I had to jump on one of the newer releases. The 3rd party options and classics add on kits never did it for me and Titans return Prime was cool but something never moved me to order him. However this guy looks sweet to me (yes even the weird feet) and I couldn't resist once I saw the beautiful takara paint job and the more accurate chest.

    Can't wait!

I went Takara because going Hasbro would really have disappointed me, een with Scrounge.

Hasbro Lightsteed has horrible colors and an inaccurate mold to how Lightspeed should look. I'm not a fan of the Breakdown mold but Takara Lightspeed looks like he should look (despite using the Wheeljack mold). Hasbro Nosecone is a lame Brawl recolor while Takara Nosecone is an extensive remold of a toy I particularly like. I don't have the Blast Off mold so Strafe is competely new to me and I appreciate all the remolding done across the toys. Hasbro Afterbreaker being orange because of the 1987 toy does appeal to me more than Takara's cartoon accurate color scheme though, but Hasbro's inexplicable green windscreen is a turn-off.

As for Optimus Prime, Hasbro's looks horrible to me. I really don't like all the changes they made to the original design. Takara's Ginrai is a whole lot more appealing to me. If I had the choice between having to go with Hasbro or pass on Optimus Prime and Computron entirely, I'd pass on them easily. I'm not a Takara snob but some toys its worth paying the extra cost for.
