I was skeptical, but I wasn't going to pile on a guy with insults when a simple "Hey do you have the proof..." Just like people who post rumors. Okay, thanks for sharing what you heard...now we sit and wait until either somebody else more reliable confirms/denies or an announcement is made.
I think i bought one from you: Transformers Combiner Wars Victorian | eBay Heres 6 available: 2016 Transformers Combiner Wars Victorion 1st Female Boxed Set Ready to SHIP | eBay Heres 8 more : Victorion Transformers Combiner Wars Generations Female Team in Stock | eBay
I'm about 80% sure I will buy Victorion, but I sure as hell am not paying eBay scalper prices, nor am I going to waste my time or gas driving to every Target I can realistically drive to. Cause first of all, I won't find her. Chances are she isn't supposed to be out, and like others said, she was released early by mistake in some stores (but that doesn't mean every store is gonna make that mistake) and even if by chance she does come out at a Target in my store, I won't find her. Every one of her will be snapped up by scalpers to put on eBay for an upcharge. No, on this one, I'm going to show some restraint, and wait till BBTS puts her up for preorder, OR Amazon is selling her
I thought Victorion was a joint design effort. Wouldn't they be the same mold, possibly a different color at best?
I feel like this is just going to be like G2 Superion/Menasor, full price for a few weeks then you'll be able to pick it up for $80.
Or less, Victorion doesn't even have the G2 nostalgia pull. I wouldn't be surprised if she's $60 on Black Friday.
Interesting. Went to brickseek, ran the DPCIs for Superion, Menasor and Victorion and all of them say 0% of stores nationwide have these. Those who have found them might've missed one thing: On hand quantity vs saleable quantity. The stores in question have 3 or more of these on hand, but they're not available for sale. Any Target that's selling these is indeed breaking the street date set in place by Hasbro. They're going to get in trouble. Why does Target never learn from their mistakes when this stuff happens? C'mon... EDIT: If I see her in store, I might be tempted enough to buy, but I think I'll wait for Amazon to post her for sale, because they'll cut the price down quite a bit, that coupled with my Prime shipping, I can have her overnight or 2 days and all I have to pay extra really is tax. And I save upwards of $20.00... Yeah, methinks I shall wait.
In my experience Brickseek isn't 100% reliable with low quantity items. Add to that no one has reported a hard lock where it stops the cashier from selling it (without manager override). A soft street date (one not registered in the system) likely wouldn't affect Brickseek.
I'm not quite sure how my point was missed, but for clarification, I wasn't saying anything affected brickseek, you took that upon yourself to make it a point. I'm not sure why, but I want to make it clear that my post wasn't about brickseek itself, just that I used it. It was about Target and their violation of policies past and present. Street date or not, brickseek is correct in it's numbers of what's on hand and what's available for sale. When it goes on sale or gets sold is between Target and Hasbro and clearly these aren't supposed to be on Target shelves just yet, the stores took it upon themselves to do so. That has nothing to do with affecting brickseek and they have no horse in this race, so to speak, so my post was taken out of context for no good reason. I get the point you're making, but you tried making it with an incorrect assumption on my post. Here you go! 087-06-4296
She's not G2, but she's *new* and has a marketing push behind her that the G2 sets didn't. If she's showing up at retail (and not just TRU) that's another big boost to her over those sets.
I'm not questioning if Takara would use different molds - although I do wonder if Rust Dust will be upgraded to Deluxe or left to Legends size - but I'm just concerned about the other changes they would do.
What kind of trouble would Target get though by breaking street date..I've seen it happen with other various figures/stores but have never read the consequences when it's been done.
They won't get in trouble. Target has broken the street date on every single toy that has been street dated for the last few years. Nothing happens. Hell, I got DOTM toys weeks ahead of the street date, as did many other folks. Hasbro needs Target more than Target needs Hasbro. They won't do anything because they can't afford to piss off one of the biggest retailers in the US. Hell, K-Mart right now has broke street date on the new Star Wars Black Rey exclusive they have, Wal-Mart broke street date on their TMNT 2 movie figures, plenty of stores broke street date for Force Awakens stuff. Nothing ever happens unless you're a small mom and pop shop that Hasbro can bully around. Technically, they should get fined for breaking the street date, if I remember right. But like I said earlier, Hasbro needs these stores way more than they need Hasbro. They could scrub Hasbro from the entire toy aisle and it would barely dent their profits, meanwhile Hasbro would be in deep shit. The whole concept of a street date is ridiculous when it comes to toys, these companies can't and won't back it up like video game publishers do.
So this part: You're using Brickseek listing 0% sellable inventory to prove that there's a street date, correct? Apologies if I misread your post. I only meant to offer an alternative view on why Brickseek is listing this item as 0% in stock so as not to deter people from heading out to look for this set. I did not mean to offend and know your main point was about whether or not this item is street dated.
If Target is worried about street dates for items, they will be hard locked in the system. If you try to ring something with an important street date, the system won't allow the item to be sold. The only way to sell it that way is to mark it as a no barcode item at the same price but then their Assets Protection team will come have a chat with that team member for messing up on a variety of things for the store. Target doesn't use the term saleable in house and on that site it could refer to a large quantity of different things. Saleable quantities could refer to a bajillion different things affecting counts including: not being located in the back room, being flexed on a shelf (so no active sales floor that the system knows about), being a damaged item that hasn't been processed yet, a damaged item that was processed incorrectly, a stolen item, a hidden item, a mispick (that's when the item comes in with the wrong pick label... I've seen cases of water come into the store with a label for a DVD assortment), item quantity screw ups (like instocks team changing the counts on items incorrectly), stolen items, or hidden items. I'm not sure if street dates would also be on that list, but as Victorion has been purchased at stores that means it doesn't have a hard street date. The boxes probably say don't sell until May 1 or whatever, though it isn't put into the system.
Except that 90% of what sells in "generations" transformers is G1-esque stuff that hits the nostalgia itch. Almost every shelfwarmer in the line has been a non-G1 figure, so if the pattern follows, Victorion will also be a slow seller.
