I don't get why Takara insists on using this shade of purple on their Galvatron figures.

I hope a future MP version will have a more cartoon accurate darker purple.

I'm not sure what to do with Galvatron. I like the look of it, and Takara's deco looks nice, but I don't know if I like it enough to not go after a Vintage UT Mania King anyways.

looks like i'll be going Takara for Hardhead and Skullcruncher (even though i like the Hasbro faceplate better ~ maybe someone'll trade if the colors match?) and probably Hasbro for Galvatron ~ not really feeling that borderline lavender purple.

Wow; honestly surprised how EARLY these are hitting. July puts them in a similar ballpark to when Wave 1 will be hitting shelves in the US.

Also, when you consider too that the price includes the Titanmaster vehicles, these are pretty decent value for money.

I'm hoping that is not the case. I would prefer the deluxe class figs come with both heads. I wonder if that is why the dragon/dino mode for Skull's titan master wasn't pictured (since the arms of the robot driver are also used as the dino arms).

I feel like this Galvatron is...brighter. I think I like the darker Hasbro better. Either way, I am NOT digging the head sculpt , the fact it is a headmaster at all, though Megs as the head, even with a different name kinda rocks and worry that people will really complain about those fists, though I like them. The fusion canon is terrific though. As for the other two, meh, either colour scheme works for me, doesn't seem like a whole lot of difference overall.

yeah, last time i ordered a Deluxe from HLJ, it was about $22, so $28 for a bigger figure with more accessories doesn't seem to egregious.

Agreed, even if his third "jet mode" is a bit of a stretch...

For the record, I still vote the galvatron winner as the UT vintage Mania King...I really should get around to reviewing that..it is quite awesome!

I'd settle for a mod that converts Galvatron into a non-headmaster and lets the head stay attached. Not really feeling it for him (tho the HM molded like Megatron is admittedly a nice touch).

Tbf, Galvatron was a dark-ish purple in the cartoon. Not as dark as Hasbro's TR Figure, but darker than Takara's

But then tbf he was sometimes a little brighter depending on the episode and how close/far he was to the screen. But then i'm not counting the Headmaster cartoon from Japan so maybe he was brighter shade of purple in that...not sure

I'll be getting Hasbro's, as i've always liked the darker purple on Galvs, but Takara's looks pretty good

The little guys look so much better... I don't usually default to Takara, but it's gonna be hard passing these up in comparison.

On the other hand, a few dabs of paint would bring the titanmasters up to speed. Will decide after side-by-side finished shots come up.

Can anyone put together a side by side of Hasbro and Takara Galvatron?

They all look great, wanted the better looking heads anyway so the extra vehicles are a nice bonus, they will help to populate my Fort Max and eventual Trypticon/Scorponok etc. :D

Undecided on which Galvatron to get though, Takaras will no doubt be better painted but the purple is a little pale. Hopefully they'll hear that from their fans too and change it.

Cool! I think I actually prefer the hasbro decos for both the deluxes, although I prefer the takara hardhead head (closer to the rebirth model, which is my preference here).
On the fence about galvatron: for some reason I actually prefer the lighter takara colour, but there's a few things about the mold that put me off. If a 3p did a new headmaster with a toon g1 crown integrated into the headmaster itself, I think I'd bite.

My internet crashed twice while trying to compose a message about the deco differences between Takara and Hasbro Skullcruncher. One last try (not including the obviously different Headmaster and weapon/partner):

    Takara (vs. Hasbro)
    - translucent red eyes (vs. painted pink eyes)
    - Decepticon logo on croc side (vs. Decepticon logo PLUS additional decals)
    - Decepticon logo on robot chest (vs. no logo)
    - white handle on tail (vs. green handle)
    - metallic green paint (vs. non-metallic)
    - translucent red window on Headmaster cockpit (vs. solid green cockpit)

Not enough to warrant me getting the Takara version - in fact, I like the painted eyes (either way, I'll probably paint them over in silver) and the extra decals (which match the G1 figure) on the Hasbro version better.

Could also be the lighting from the photo shoot. I had to look again to notice Skullcruncher's gun in the tail because when I first looked at it. It was hard to make out from the white background. And I'll reiterate, hope Hardhead comes with a second rifle.

Nice! So far these look great. The deluxes coming with the mini vehicles is great. I like their colors though, I DO like the G1 toy heads on the Hasbro versions better. As for Galvatron, I like the more pale purple on the Takara version, though I can see people liking the Hasbro plum purple more. The other deco changes aren't too drastic so that's good too. My only issues with this Galvatron is, he's a voyager, which as a follow up to Megatron being a leader class is a tad unfortunate. And his forearms having a giant hollow space in them where the hands fold in. Yeah, on a voyager class, I'm still disappointed in it. You can't tell me two extra parts that tab into the forearms, you don't even need to use metal pins, that open and close when the hands flip in or out would have added THAT much more to the budget. Maybe a 3rd Party can make replacement arms?

Quick query, does anyone here have both a Diaclone driver figure and generations arcana to hand? I've been wondering if the new Diaclone Reboot pilots will be able to fit in the various cockpits of this line. I know the new pilots are the same height as the originals and that the new Headmasters are a tiny bit shorter then Genny Arcana.
