Oh man, if that's the real deal I'd gladly take that over the Thrilling 30 one for the sake of him playing well with the other headmasters.

...Aaaalso because I'm kinda running out of space on my current shelf.

 

I don't get the deal with the black deco?

It's decent but I think the one from Thrilling 30 was good enough.

 

If he ends up with black parts on him like this picture seems to show I'll be really happy. Yes, the Generations one is great and I think it's a good figure, but the black brings it closer to the Headmasters version I know and love as does the tooling. While it is redundant I'm glad this is happening; this'll be perfect for my TF Headmasters collection. I'm even fine with the faceplate; it looks nice here.

 

Yeah, I definitely prefer him over the Voyager one. Can't wait to have him.

Eh, I still like the Voyager. I prefer having a version more accurate to the MTMTE version and even though the Headmaster isn't perfect. Also it looks like the front of the ship might parts form, look at the arm on the right, and if that's the case I find that disappointing.

 

His head is still pretty IDWesque, so maybe I will get him after all.

 

Damn... just got LG-09 too. Going to have to get this one now to complete the main group.

 

The square cockpit kills the look, I just can not not see Blurr with wings here.

 

Hm, I like the head better than Generations Brainstorm, but the body not so much. No deal, but still looks good.

 

Art is nice and everything but I wish we had a picture of the proper figure.

Anyway, this is not bad but I think they should have gone for a more MTMTE-inspired design. Yes, the Voyager Brainstorm had that but this one scales much better with Chromedome who seems much more based on his MTMTE appearance.

 

Looks better than I thought it would. I'll probably pick it up and decide if I want to replace Generations Brainstorm on my shelf from there.

 

Didn't we already get a Brainstorm recently?

 

The G1 cockpit was pretty square too. I thought fans love that kind of accuracy.

 

They do, until the character makes an appearance in IDW.

 

It's obviously accurate to Blurr because it's flatter and wider, not Brainstorm whose cockpit was longer and took up the lower 2/3rds of the body, extending into the crotch area.

There's also the problem of this toy's alt. mode looking more like a hovercar instead of a space fighter because it's too wide.

 

And that's exactly the reason why I freaking HATE this IDW.

People talk "G1 accuracy-proportions-colors".

While in fact, they don't mean G1 at all anymore. Just those over the top stylized IDW interpretations.

 

I like it, but boy is it hard to compete with what I think is one of the prettiest robot modes the Generations line has come up with in its history. That voyager Brainstorm is just beautiful.

 

Voyager Brainstorm never same here, so I'll gladly get this one if I can't find that one.
