They actualy do mention a decline in the full report, but apparently it was a smaller one than the usual for post-movie year thanks to Robots in Disguise performing well.

"As expected, TRANSFORMERS revenues declined given the difficult of a
comparison with the 2014 theatrical release. The decrease was at the low end of the traditional range following a movie and benefited from the success of TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE television programming airing in markets around the world. "

I suppose it's probably a good thing since it means they lost less space than expected even at the face of Star Wars fucking dominating the toy aisles.

That meshes with what we saw in earlier reports as well. Sales were "down" but Hasbro always expects a line to decline following a movie year.

If they're saying the decline wasn't as big as expected and that's because RiD is performing better than they thought...it would also explain why they're pushing forward with Titanmasters and the idea of compatibility across price-points.

^ Yeah, did Jurassic World about four times myself, The Force Awakens four times, not ruling out one more showing. Only saw the last two Transformers once each in theaters before they hit retail. Haven't bought a Transformer figure that wasn't an old one from eBay in about a year. Nothing worth considering today except the Legion RID Decepticons.

They are. It just takes a little longer to move versus Combiner Wars, but it does sell eventually. Even the $20 3-steps...if only because they're the last thing sitting on the shelf.

As for the sales report, the big thing to remember is that this is factory-to-retail sales. While what is moving at the cash register does have an impact, so do the massive pallet drops retailers purchase in advance of an upcoming movie campaign.

Yeah, but they'd make even more money if they made just the Transformers toys I wanted.

Am I the only one that found star wars lame? this now guarantees more star wars toys and hopefully that doesn't mean less transformers toys...
