To me they all look damn good, not just Blast Off or Vortex, Onslaught has two tone painted guns, also that Blue. Not to mention the Hasbro version has that cheap looking unpainted Silver plastic. I love the Purple hood on Swindle, despite not having the right color thighs, I may get a Hasbro one and do a swap.

The toon based color scheme is by far the best version to me, if the Hasbro had painted Silver and a better looking Slingblast, like using Air Raid with a real BO head, then it would have been that much better.

I like all 5 pieces better and the combined mode is just so bad ass.

Still hoping the use of the grey prototype means they'll fix his colors.

I do feel that that silver paint on the chest makes all the difference on Bruticus. Still find Blastoff underwhelming though. Protruding chested and small armed just doesn't suit him. I suppose once he's in hand maybe it'll be clearer why they decided to make him the way they did.

Interesting news on the tailfin.. I'd already spotted that his fists had 5mm port afterburners, nice to see it officially confirmed. Looking forward to a Rook v Blast Off smashathon when I get Bruty!

I want this Blast Off for my standalone CW figures. Killer design, awesome hands and blaster fists. Colors look great. He looks like a total badass.

I've already pre-ordered this, because I want space shuttle, but damn he's ugly. I do not like his proportions.

The silver rims are my one teeniest of tiniest complaint about this set, I absolutely love everything else (including the price, so glad he isn't a TT Mall exclusive), but I wish both Hasbro and TT would paint TF alt-modes' rims colours other than silver more often.
I think it would've been cool if Onslaught's rims were the same colour blue (that blue, indeed!) as the rest of him, and same for Swindle having silver instead of yellow/tan rims.

Hey guys, even tho I am stoked to get UW07 Bruticus this summer,I have worries about Blast Off,namely his chest, the way part of the shuttle mode folds down makes it look like Blast Off's chest is oversized.Am I worrying for nothing or do others have issues with it too.

Don't get me wrong I really like this figure for the most part but he just looks a little weird. Thanks guys.

Seriously, did no one on the design team ever take a look at Blast Off's chest and say "Yeah, I'm not so sure this a good idea, guys..." ?

I agree that sometimes other colors are appropriate, like with G1 Inferno and Grapple for instance. Sometimes the same-color-as-the-vehicle rims work for those heavier types of vehicles, and I don't mind them for some better variety. Sometimes the silver can almost look too nice. And sometimes black is appropriate and can look good, but it generally only looks great when it is still painted.

That said, what I don't want to see is more things like Generations Skids, where wheels are some other random color that detracts from a more realistic design. I'm all for variety within the constraints of realism, but not variety for the sake of variety. The red rims really make him stand out in a bad way in a vehicle mode display. It's a little too toy for that line up.

In the cases of the Combaticons here and TakaraTomy, it's very simple - Onslaught and Swindle had silver rims in the cartoon.

Yup, I'm with you on this. They aren't sports cars, they don't need fancy alloy rims! Military and construction equipment usually just have wheels with colored paint slathered over them. Still, I guess painted wheels are better than unpainted. And like you said, I think the rest of this set looks good. At first I didn't think I'd dig the cartoon-inspired painted Bruticus chest plate, but in execution I actually like it a lot.

Glad to see Blast Off has at least the option of non-partsforming fins, even if they look a bit cumbersome.

Is it just me who doesn't get the hulk hands appeal? I mean, fine it can be done, but...why?

Actually the chest has two other folds on the sides to decrease it's bustiness. Perhaps that alleviates your concerns.

The main reason people like it is because it's an additional, ridiculous sort of play value out of the HFG that not many people expected because of how the system was panning out for the first two waves. On a more personal level, the fact that Rook had the audacity to use his combiner kibble as a power fist rather than a gun is part of why he's so endearing compared to Offroad or Alpha Bravo. The only time I saw that out of anything was TFC's Hercules, and that wasn't really a thing they advertised or seemed to intend.

In short, the only real reason is "because it's hilarious and within it's context a legitimately creative feature."
