I'll be picking some stuff up, but first I need to double check which TPBs I have already bought via Humble Bundle's previous IDW Transformers deals.

I was ready to jump on these... But it looks like these are just digital copies. I just can't enjoy reading comics on a screen.

Don't know if I ever mentioned it, but awesome sig.

Also in other news: YES. All TF fans should check out the IDW books

Don't be afraid you'll like them!! You can still like G1 everyone. I assure you. There is room for new stuff though. Don't be like your parents who listen to the same 50's and 60's music even until meow lol :D  give it a chance!

Meh. I love the TF comics but here is the honest thing:

They're not worth Jack shat. It's not the type of medium that generates value over time. It's an amazing read. Fantastic art style (some of the best I ever seen - especially MTMTE). But not worth anything really.

So why would you want the paper copies? They'd cost you more, not worth anything really, and will just take up space.

I personally absolutely head-over-heels love reading comics on my kindle fire. It may be smaller than a comic book but the images are crystal clear, I can zoom in if I want, digitally bookmark shit. It's insanely great. A huge collection at the touch of a button. No mess :D . And cheaper!

    Thanks boss :thumb

For those not digging digital comics ... I get it. I'd suggest giving it a try though. These can be read on a desktop, tablet, and mobile phone. It's a difference experience but worthwhile.

I'll take issue with that... They may not go up in value, but when you get them at this kind of discount, they'll hold their value so you can probably at least get most, if not all, your money back down the road. With digital, you a license for as long as someone supports it. After that, you are SOL.

Plus, as I said, I just hate reading on a screen. I want paper in my hand.

It's a great deal for those who like digital... Just not for me.

    Fair enough!

If this was another humble bundle deal, I'd say Fak it and just buy anyway, since it would be going to a good cause. But maybe wait for an Amazon sale for the physical books :)

    Exactly!

Though I was 1 cent off from being able to buy MTMTE Volume 8 (which is a dollar more for some reason).

Yeah, what this guy said, only more eloquently than I had time to muster. I can't tell you the angst that "buying" TV shows on Amazon Prime has caused me, versus having a DVD backup and my platform-agnostic digital copies.

Comixlogoy offers downloads of digital backups for comics. I'm not sure if it's for all comics, but they defiantly do for Transformer comics.

I have most of the "-ation" and "-acy" series and all of RiD/MtMtE, and I'd love to fill the gap in the middle with the old main-title series. However, I'd rather wait until after payday to actually make the purchase. Is there any word as to how long the sale lasts for?

Yep. I usually download the PDF backup of each issue, since I prefer that to the web reader.
