Oh, a Windblade or a 'Con battlepack could be so awesome. I don't have the urge to get the Alpine swipe, though I may reconsider IF his weapon/armor aren't just a recolor of wave 1 Sideswipe's bits.

I saw Optimus and Sideswipe at Target the other day. It was also where I picked up Ratbat and the Mini-Con Four Pack. The Mini-Cons may have won me over more than the Legions.

But yeah, as bad as the Cyclone Mini-Cons seem to be for everyone, I kinda dig them. They're no Armada Dead End but their overall shapes are cool enough, and yeah, Back and Forth definitely look like BW Inferno.

I'm just curious on where the Arms Micron-like Mini-Cons are.

I think I'm going to have to pick these up. I almost bought Prime and Sideswipe today. I'll have to pick these up next time I see them.

Got them today. Grimlock looks great and will fit in nicely with my Legion/Cyberverse group.

Bumblebee looks great too and will be my scout representation of the line with Deluxes like Optimus and Grimlock representing the bigger figs.

Great. More stuff to clog the pegs and leave no room for CW figures.

Ugh....I just...I just really wish this toyline would end

It is easily my least favorite Transformers toyline EVER.

Yeah, once all the parts are combined it makes a larger T-Rex head that fits in a plug on the dino-mode's snout, or you can attach it to either arm BW Megatron style using two notched guides at the back of each forearm. There aren't any "problem parts" to speak of, but you'll want to be careful with the chest armor piece, as it is crucial for making the "weapon mode" fit to the robot mode, and it does have a tendency to flex a little in the peg holes connecting it to the rest of the constructed skull.

Are these the legends size BB and Grim scaled up to (almost) deluxe size? or new molds?

well then it's a great thing your opinion doesn't really matter to hasbro.

i as well as others apparently enjoy some of what this line has to offer. the stock is constantly being bought and restocked in my area ALONG with the current waves of CW. maybe you just live in a bad area where new things take forever to show up.

but don't blame a line that others seem to enjoy based on how it sells.

or maybe give the line a shot. i enjoy what i've got from this line more than i thought i would when i started getting some of the figures. frankly i hope the line continues especially the minicon battle pack groups. they're great fun.

I might actually like the line more if there were more figures available that have articulation. Sadly, I hardly every come across any warrior class toys. Except for Grimlock and Bumblebee. Bumblebee is fine, but I just can't see myself buying a Grimlock that small.

The other figure I was highly considering was the Toysrus exclusive 5-Step Change Megatronus. ..Until I found out his ONLY, and I mean ONLY articulation is in his elbows. I've said it before, but there are G1 figures that have better articulation than that.

That's what I think the main problem with this line is. The Warrior Class toys are the best figures (although YMMV) . And they're clearly the best at articulation. The problem is, this line has no Voyager toys. So bigger characters get scaled down worse than animated Lugnut.

EDIT: That being said, I DO like the Energon armor concept, and I hope they try it with other toy lines in the future. They originally did this with Energon/Superlink, but it was just weapons. I like the expanded concept, and it would be great to see it on a bit of a larger scale (like deluxe figures or possibly even voyagers)

and not every line is going to contain size classes like voyagers and leaders but it does allow for the minicons the battle packs the legions and other sub lines.

scale has always been an issue with transformers so the scale complaint is always moot. we aren't always getting voyagers and leaders that should stop being such a factor in everything.

also, i must say the disappointment with 5 steps....at this point the limitation of articulation for a gimmick changer should be expected.

to me none of that changes the fact that the warriors, legions, minicons, and battlepacks are fun solid toys.

Yeah...Hasbro needs to stop with some of the large gimmick stuff like 5-step Megatronus. Kids aren't that stupid when it comes to toys; they are stupid, but not that stupid.

That said, the Battle Packs and other sublines are all very cool. It's nice to have some neat little desk toys and other figures that keep you interested in the overall look and feel of some of the toys. I thought I would hate the new Mini-Cons because of how they have no alt-modes, but that's who they are, and I respect them for expressing themselves. They managed to take what were shapes and made them interesting ones at that with the robot and beast modes.

Legions are cool too, but I mainly got into them after getting a few more Cyberverse toys. I don't think they're as special as the Mini-Cons because none of them are new (as in toy-original) characters, and...yeah, they're okay, but I wouldn't keep them around forever. Same with Warriors, as I'm more interested in the littler guys.

Battle Packs really interest me though. They have figures bigger than Legion class, yes, which contradicted my statement of collecting smaller guys, but the figures just seem like the old Scout Class Energon toys mixed with Armada, two lines I grew up with. They come with parts to make an energon weapon, and they come with a Mini-Con. Double Whammy. Plus I had a few ideas of converting the Sideswipe mold into a Diaclone-painted figure or something.

The other parts of the RID line are boring, and just don't seem as interesting as I want them to be. Just almost no imagination. Some may not like the RID Mini-Cons, and others may not like the One-Steps or even the Warriors, but hey, "gubba nub nub du rocka." Whatever helps you sleep at night.

    Yup.

This line seems to sell way more consistently than CW in my area. I also, surprisingly, find myself enjoying it more than I enjoy CW as a line.

    Who woulda thunk?

Scored the two new sets at TRU this afternoon. I also picked up Wave 1 at Target this morning. I decked them out with Iron Factory weapons. I like them overall, but I question my need for these guys in yet another scale. I'd be down for the rest of the cast I think.
