Whatever they say I just hope they do have some ability to actually control what comes out in the cinemas in the end. Seriously with the "crap" that's come out in TF4, I wouldn't even mind TF5 to be "disneyfied". Look at Star Wars ep7, many people say it was "disneyfied" but it was a damn good movie.

All the movies have their positive points. The original film would have been pretty much exactly what I wanted if Sam's parents just dropped dead as soon as Sam bought his car. Maybe the oversight from Hasbro will help separate the SOCCENT attacks and the Optimus speeches from the humping dogs and subplots about what constitutes as statutory rape in Texas.

If nothing else, Hasbro having more control should mean the Decepticons will stop being an army of interchangeable nobodies, which should help sales of their toys and maybe mean we get more 'Con toys in movie lines.

It says Hasbro will have more control over the films. Did they get control over Bay because of his directors contract ? That's what I'm thinking. If so, that would be a good thing for them because things needs to be changed up a little for the next film.

Fans of the franchise? Are you sure about that? Or if that really is better?

I say this because the most popularly cited two series in this franchise for having superior quality in comparison to everything else are Beast Wars and Animated, the two series who completely ditched then-accepted status quo and went in completely new directions.

Meanwhile, if you look at the last three TF movies...their plots are literally copy-pasted from G1 episodes. It's not important that whoever controls the films from here on out are merely fans of Transformers, it's that they understand what makes this franchise so enduring while still making it completely fresh at the same time.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Sixshot is probably never going to happen again properly (originally he was slated for Animated, but Hasbro said a six-changer is not going to happen with how toy design budgets are planned these days, so Blitzwing took his place), Deathsauras is way too obscure and that name is never going to work in the western market, Overlord being done properly actually means he really shouldn't be setting the standard for Decepticon service (since he keeps going rogue all the time), and the only time Galvatron in every previous series has NOT been Megatron with a different paint job is when he's batshit insane, things that Movie Galvatron really hasn't done to make him not seem like being just Megatron form 4.

You mean actually having Decepticons in the films again, right? Because AoE replacing them with literal crappy knock-offs that don't even properly transform so much as melt into rubix cubes, with the one legit Transformer bad guy not being a true Decepticon at all, still kind of pisses me off.

Hasbro having an influence could mean good things and/or bad things. A more family friendly atmosphere with less stereotypes could be possible, as it would help sell more toys (though Bay likely wouldn't agree with such terms) could be a pontential result of Hasbro's influence, but it could also lead to new characters showing up out of nowhe-oh, wait...

I dunno if Hasbro is really gonna dictate plots that much. They'll probably just force in pointless gimmicks and characters, which the films have already done with "Stealth" Force and the "Dinobots". Really, I don't think they can mess up the films any worse and if anything, it might mean the Transformers themselves will be handled better and the films might become more kid friendly and stop their vein effort to be serious.

Eh, I thought the way they were handled in AOE was a lesser evil compared to ROTF and especially DOTM. I'd rather see an army of drones be worthless canon fodder than an army of living Decepticon who should actually be capable. Plus, Galvatron is at least using Megatron's mind.

Hasbro has "more control"? What's that even mean? We've seen how they handled "The Hub" so how does this change anything.... Plus Bay is a control freak, he wouldn't have gotten on board if it wasn't in his best interest.

So no, they can keep that movie crap, just don't ruin the comics or the Generations toys.

Wow it's almost feels like people are watching these films at gun point while trying to make the best out of a terrible situation.....

This is why they suck in the first place! As long as they bottom line isn't impacted they'll continue to lower the bar. Bay was blatant about this last film.

Now if you like Bay's crap then fine, it's your money. But that comment there feels like you're trying to psych yourself on why you support this franchise more than you're trying to convince anyone else to buy tickets.

The sky is falling! Transformers is ruined FOREVER!

... seriously, with as much negativity every single one of your posts in the past few years has been spouting, I can't help but wonder why you actually are a Transformers fan at all anymore.

As a person who defends the movies a lot, I think Hasbro having more control actually isn't that bad. While, in my opinion, all four movies have been pretty good, Michael does kind of need to be controlled. Hopefully, since Hasbro is assuming more control over these films, the Decepticons won't be snarling monsters, but actual characters who can talk and interact with each other.

If you're so high-strung over legitimate reluctance regarding Bay's crappy films and the lackluster way that Hasbro handled The Hub I question why you still read the comments.

if hasbro is going to have more control over the transformers' movies than hasbro might be funding (or putting more money into) the movies, it just depends how much money will hasbro will shell out for the movies

well see how these movies will turn out

I think I just want the script for these movies written by more competent writers, people who actually care about the plot, dialogue, character development, etc.

To be honest, I can't entirely blame Michael Bay considering what he had to work with.

Yeah, I don't mind them getting a little "disneyfied" that Disney Prince of Persia movie was a good movie and as long as they don't take out the horror aspects of the film and do not mess with them legendary Bay hot girl scenes. That's all I'm worried about I think in addition to the other things I talked about in the last couple of transformers live action movie news threads.
