Then that's a personal problem. Because it isn't.

If you think a company that produces toys with an economic system is an insult to your intelligence, that's on you.

yeah, like Shadowfall said, the certainly have been doing that (Alpha Bravo for example) but not this time, this mold is 100% Blaster with Soundwave shoe-horned into it...

i wouldn't expect them to remold the whole figure, i'd have expected Soundwaves Titanmaster to be an entirely new mold, as i'd assume (possibly erroneously) the Titanmaster molds to be independent of the main bodies so they have a level of mix-n-matchability. I was really surprised to see Blasters legs on there...

A regular Shockwave without any TR gimmicks would be nice.
However, I'd prefer him to be a voyager.

We wait all this time for a CHUG Soundwave, in a line full of knockout awesome figures, and this is the shit we get? The mold shoulda been Soundwave first, then Blaster as an afterthought.

The head is just all kinds of wrong.

And what scale is this supposed to match? The leader Megatron and Seekers? Shoulda been Voyager. The original Soundwave is roughly voyager size and manages to not have an awful, protruding gimmick.

I'm usually not one to complain but this is just disappointing.

I'll still buy it because I'm a filthy whore for hasbro products.

Why shouldn't Blaster finally get his own dedicated CHUG mold? Soundwave and Prime always get priority on molds and Blaster and Magnus are afterthoughts but finally Magnus and Blaster come into their own and this is what he gets...

I think it's funny yet fitting that Soundwave and PM Prime are finally the retools, not the originals.

Personally I think this looks awful. I wasn't averse to them having Blaster and Soundwave share a mold again; I think they did a fantastic job of that with the FOC mold where both managed to look good. But there's quite a few problems with this one. In the first (large) pic the headsculpt looks incredibly off. I'm not sure if there's a helmet there that wasn't pushed all the way down but it just looks off. Second, the gun. That's clearly Blaster's gun. I normally don't call things lazy, but that's lazy. He looks a bit too bulky. Blaster to me is okay being bulky since his toy was and such. But Soundwave was never that bulky in show, comics, or toy. At best maybe in Pat Lee artwork. Maybe it's just the angle as in one of the promo pics he looks a bit better. And then that alt mode. I was okay with Blaster's, but Soundwave looks ridiculous. I might wait to see in hand pics (I doubt I'll see him in store because stores near me don't want to stock leaders.) But so far, I'm not getting a good impression.

Eugh, he looks so bloated. I want a Classics Soundwave so bad, but I'll pass and hope against hope that they'll revisit him later.

heh, good point ~ it's nice though too ~ Soundwave (who i'm shocked really hasn't got a proper Classics mold before now, and those WFC/FOC things don't even remotely count) and Prime (and Megatron and Bumblebee and Starscream) will ALWAYS get new versions, the chance of getting another new mold Blaster is probably pretty small...

I don't like it. Something about it seems... odd, and unappealing. I think it might be the face and chest. He looks kind of surprised. Alternate mode looks good at least. Titans Return is looking to be a "dip in, grab Sentinel, Astrotrain, Skullcruncher and Galvatron, remove" type of line.

After all the non-G1 Soundwave's we have had it is good to see a return to a more classic inspired design.

I just hope he looks good next to Leader Megatron.

I couldn't agree more. It looks the part and it's pretty much deluxe sized. Only barrier is price.
Personally I don't mind the chest (mostly because every version of G1 Soundwave's mold I have has been the double tape version; same with Blaster). It does stick out a fair bit though. Blue paint or blue stickers around it might help though.
True; I'd rather not have to pay extra for guns though (especially since they often seem to cost as much as a deluxe, so it doesn't feel like value to me.)

    I disagree.

I walk down the toy aisle and I see pegs and rows of OVERPRICED GARBAGE. Transformers, In general, Are probably the best bang for a kids buck these days when you look at the Engineering, Quality, and overall product (Parts count, paint, springs, ratchets..ETC)
From my perspective, If I were Hasbro, There is no damn way I would make separate molds for the 2.
    -Both turn into radios
-Both have the "cassette" slot in the chest
-Both (in media) were about the same size

I makes complete business sense to make both from the same mold.

If you made 2 totally different molds, then those are the 2 leaders you get..and then what? A soundblaster repaint...and what a twincast from blaster?

The business model, and decision is SOUND (pun intended). Its a good move on resources, and allows them to put another leader mold on the shelf.

Your complaining about repaints...But in order for them to recoup these drastic costs (This stuff IS expensive..) They HAVE to repaint. Blaster and soundwave just makes sense.

Plus..Now we will finally be able to have Blaster, Stare down SOund wave, with Minions at each's side, and it will JIVE.

If these guys didnt have base modes, Right now I would be saying "Im skipping blaster for soundwave.." but I know myself..and im a sucker for base modes. Ill buy both.

Hell..I know my dumbass..If hasbro just labeled a mistransformation as an "Official Base Mode!" I would buy it..and say.."Well..It DOES have a base mode.."

Titan wars IS gunna rock. Yes there will be many repaints. But there will be MANY base modes, that connect. Eeeffff yeeaaa..

Considering G1 Soundwave uses the same 5mm pegs as most toys now, you could presumably just borrow from that (especially if you have redundant reissues or junkers around like I do)

Looks pretty decent overall, and I like how the 'boombox' mode looks more like a speaker dock for a phone/iPod here. My choice would have been to ditch the big handle though, or tone it down somehow if it is a necessary part.

EXACTLY! thanks you I was gonna quote a bunch of folks myself saying the head was off & remind them its a helmet I'm sure hasbro just didnt fit it on right. Similar to miss transformations ;)  But then you said it for me.

Listen guys this is most likely the facts.

Think I'm going to stick with FoC Soundwave for the time being since I'm not eager to "re-collect" his cassette army (Buzzsaw doesn't exactly blow me away) and not a huge enough fan of him being a Headmaster. I may give special consideration to Astrotrain when he inevitably comes, but Soundwave isn't important enough for me to warrant this.
