Well, Guzzle is a very loud rambunctious and bratty child, isn't he? I love how Impactor has put him in time out and the little guy is being an afthead about the entire thing. It would almost be cute if he wasn't implied to be in there for killing surrendered Decepticons. Someone needs to teach IDW Autobots about Due Process. From Guzzle to Optimus Prime, the entire thing seems lost on them. I'm glad Impactor was able to control himself this time. Positive character development!

It's sad Springer remains in a coma. Impactor and Whirl seem to agree about what should be done with him. Thank you Roadbuster for not giving up on the stubborn green triple-changer. I hope he awakens and proves them both wrong. This euthanasia topic is hitting a little too close to home for me.

The discussion Impactor had with his fellow adult, Roadbuster was an interesting one. Roadbuster had cadets once. What happened to them? Are they all dead or have any survived and dropped out? After the last issue of Mtmte(I hope we'll see what happened there), this is a good humanizing moment for them both.

Roadbuster's love of weapons continues to amuse me but it's been presented as more of a problem here. There's been a theme in Drift:EOS and Exrid addressing the Cybertronians propensity towards destruction lately and now we see it implied here with the wreckers sharing a sort of addiction to it. It's a neat topic to explore and I look forward to seeing it expanded on further.

Very excited to read this, as Last Stand of the Wreckers is one of my favorite IDW stories.

 

It's good to catch up with the characters, I hope they can catch lightning in a bottle twice.

 

when is that first panel supposed to be?
before the current issues of transformers (the blackrock affair)? so the ship has yet to explode? Or is it after? It seems to me like cup n' rc are in the ark after the deceps stormed it. In which case, what happened to alhpa trion and sideswipe? Did RC manage to hide and survive?

No, he was pardoned after the G9 incident and was allowed to go free with Guzzle.

 

Wasn't Kup in Arctic with Jazz?

This would place SoTW after Combiner Wars but before current events in TF ongoing.

 

i like seeing impactor try to rectify his sins. he's such a real character.

I'm not sure... My guess is that SotW takes place after everything that's going on in exRID right now. That would explain why Kup would need to be outside the ship riveting.

Really liking the coloring of this, feels like a good old fashion noir crime story.

It's for sure Kup on panels in SoTW and it was 100% Kup on mission with Jazz in ExRiD #45.

 

This is happening back during the previous ex-RID arc, between issues #44 and #45.

Note that on page 3 of #45, Jetfire is all "Kup, Arcee. About time you got back."

I think the overall timeline is probably something like this:

- Combiner Wars
- TF #42-43
- Combiner Hunters
- TF #44
- Windblade v2 #4-7 & SOTW #1-5
- TF #45 onwards

 

I'm not sure it is, I think that could be Prowl in disguise as part of some mad plan by Prowl. We'll see.

 

Well that makes a lot more sense now. I thought Jetfire was just referring to "back from Cybertron" at the time.

 

That's the most ridiculous fan theory I've ever heard, but nevermind.

 

Poor Guzzle. He clearly had issues in LSOTW, and they clearly never got resolved. Hopefull he can get rehabilitated and isn't just another casualty of oh-so-peaceful post-war life.

Interesting seeing Roadbuster being the calm one when, well, the last time we saw him was a flashback to him horrifically mutilating a Decepticon whilst on some kind of drug.

 

This looks nice.

Hopefully it'll be as good as the Dinobots comic.
