it's weird, but I find myself wishing they'd make a Voyager-scale IDW Fort Max instead. I mean, this is cool and holy shit a giant new Fort Max with the double-headmaster gimmick, but...

Maybe I'm out of touch with the pulse of the fandom, but "Just like G1 with better articulation" doesn't appeal to me anymore, compared to "oh man just like the one in MTMTE!"

EDIT: I guess I just have to buy this one and then pick up someone's Infinitor they're looking to dump.

Didn't the original line art have tank treads? Wonder if they got rid of them or if they just aren't in the pic.

 

This looks nothing like the figure revealed in the Botcon background pics. (i.e. lack of treads) Considering how spot on that art was for Blaster, Sentinel Prime, and the Titanmaster gimmick, I find it incredibly unlikely that this picture represents the final product. It looks more like a mockup assuming this slide is even legit.

 

I notice the pictures have David Chua's name printed on them. David is Hasbro Asia Regional Customer Strategy & Marketing Director. There was an interview with him about the Hasbro Asia exclusives a while back...

Amazing, I have been waiting for this toy most of my life, I loved Fort max back in the day. Only questions is now is there/where is his 3rd mode? Will they go G1 or IDW with the 3rd mode, will it be a battle ship or a tank. Have they made Cerebros able to do something more useful when he isn't being maxs head?

Also didn´t the concept art had tank threads on the shoulders. The only saving grace of this toy is if he could become a mobile base.

Well I love the G1 version. I don't think I'll be upgrading to this new one. I want to see more of him though. I might buy it in the end.

 

I don't think so, If I remember correctly, this has been roumored for a while now. These are just the first photos to surface.

 

That kind of detail definitely increases its likelihood of being legit a lot. I'm still thinking it is an early mockup though given the lack of treads which were so prominent on the previous artwork.

 

IDW Fortress Maximus transforms into a H-tank. It's seen briefly in MTMTE Issue 15.
