I did double dip on Ratchet, just because he's always been my sentimental favorite (I'm of the opinion that old Ratchet just does not get enough love from Hasbro or Takara).

As for Ironhide, I only ordered one of him. It has zero to do with the tire butt, as I actually don't mind his tire butt. It's that glaringly monotnous grey pelvic area. I'm going to wait and see if stickers will make a difference with regards to that.

Definitely won't argue with it - haha! :D  It's hard for me to rank figures that I'm crazy about for different reasons, but I might've picked Star Saber just because I'm a sucker for his size and all the display options his gimmicks allow for. As far as Tracks goes, though, he might be my favorite carbot, or at least tied with ol' Bumblebee. His mixed reception is beyond me. Speaking of which, it'll sure be interesting to see how the van bros are received. Opinions on Ultra Magnus pre-release seemed to lean more on the negative end of the spectrum but ended up becoming one of the most loved figures of the line once we all had him in hand. Tracks' trajectory was nearly the opposite. Barring any unforeseen issues, I'm already sold on these dudes. Pretty much love at first sight. :)

Definitely gets me jonesing for the rest of the cast in that episode, but it did give me at least a little thrill that we have a Vector Sigma accessory complete with a shiny die cast key. I really need to get some kind of clear stand for it so I can do away with the chintzy cardboard box Hasbro slapped together for it...

Yeah, I actually pointed that out a couple months ago on here about the lack of the crosses on him in KtVS. You're right, it's not simply an animation error, as he was prominently featured and only one time did I see the cross on one of his shoulders when he was shown in the background for only a couple seconds. THAT was an error. :)

I'm not sure if I'll add after-market crosses on or not. I'm not a decal guy unless it's for putting faction symbols on 3P figs. Regardless, I'm just really happy it looks like TT is giving us the option, and not forcing the one they've come up with on us. I'll certainly not be using theirs. Gives me the impression they realize it isn't accurate to anything, but if we want it, it's there.

Yeah, it's weird on tracks. I'm usually pretty good about reading a figure from pics and reviews, so i have not bought something I didn't love. However with tracks, something just didn't translate for me. He photographs ridiculously well... More so than any other MP I've seen, but in person, he just doesn't pull it off for me. It's not that I don't like him, I do, I just don't love him like I thought I would.
Magnus on the other hand I loved him both before and after I got him. He's probably my favorite MP next to prime.

Hot dayumm, Ratchet looks good. It's funny because all the gripes I had with Ironhide just don't seem to translate onto Ratchet? Weird.

Some of it is just the photography and posing is better. But even the face feels better. Is it identical to Ironhide?

Anyway, I hope this means my impressions of Ironhide will be even better in hand.

    Can't wait to have both!

The way things are going now, you may be waiting forever, IF they make a v2, it certainly won't be a part of the masterpiece line.

As for Ratchet, he looks GREAT!!! And I'll definitely be getting any reprolabels set that comes out for him, Ratchet had the crosses in the movie, so that's how he'll look on my shelf.

Full credit to you then, FC! I wonder if there was some kind of issue even then with the Red Cross? Interesting that his model began with that prominent detail only for it to be deliberately lost in the second season.

Less than a month till we start getting ol' Ahrnhahd in hand!

I think Ratchet looks as good as anyone could hope for in this shot, and he's not even transformed correctly! (the ab piece isn't folded down)

I think it is pretty likely the crosses disappear simply because they disappeared from the toy and weren't a reflection of the product anymore. By the time they corrected it in season two, they may very well have already animated that portion of the movie based upon the timeline that it was in production, so he goes back to having them in the movie.

It is probably like how they were told not to use Reflector much at all anymore at one point once they knew they weren't going to sell him at retail. It is a change that was asked for, and due to the nature of the rushed production, the crosses still pop up from time to time. I don't think the Red Cross came after the cartoon, there is zero evidence of that and we all know what happens when this fandom assumes things, they tend to be proven wrong over time.

Me personally though, I like the crosses and will be looking for some if he doesn't come with ones that are suitable. They add detail and really complete the ambulance mode. I bought the reprolabels for my G1 as well.

It's funny that some of the people complaining about some of these new MPs like they're the worst seem to forget how bad MP-1s alt mode looks, MP-5s bot mode is so scrawny and frail looking and the head and face look nothing like Megatron, and the Samurai looking hip BS, and the shoulder kibble on the MP-3 molds.

Yes, two got a 2.0, but one Is because of new scale and the other isn't really a 2.0, but the one we should have gotten in the first place, that was changed for whatever reason.

Point is, these new MPs are far from the shit many act like they are. I don't care what 3P can do without safety laws or adding metal that doesn't add quality, just adds heft, and to me heft doesn't mean anything unless it's a huge figure. But heft on say Sphinx is nothing but a bonus, it certainly isn't needed for me to qualify something as a quality piece. So, Ratchethide is missing a few fillers and has two small hip panels...So friggin what...doesn't bother me. And they certainly aren't shit just because it, just as to me Tracks isn't shit just because he has some more hollowness than a previous one. The thing that bugs me about Tracks is the boards slapped in his shins that aren't straight with his knees...But still, not shit.

It's been ages since I saw any Ratchet MP photos. Checking out this thread with fresh eyes really has me hyped for him. Apart from a few derpy poses, he looks great. Can't wait to get him.

It took TT 8 years to make a V2 Prime, and over 4 years later they show no sign of making a V3. Instead they release most figures (including Ratchet) to fit inside Prime's trailer.
It's also been 9 years since Megatron was released, and still no V2.

The idea that TT would make a V2 Ratchet in any time frame that is worth waiting for is beyond ridiculous.

By all means, if you dislike the current mold don't buy it. But realistically the chances of a V2 Ratchet are very small.

You are making a very dangerous assumption that you would actually like the V2 Ratchet, if it ever happened. Imagine waiting all that time only to find out you preferred the first version.

Um, is someone really saying they'll wait for a V2 version of a figure that's not out yet?
