Wow... he's so... white!
Still very iffy about the mold, although to me he looks slightly better than Ironhide.
And an extra face! Does Ironhide have an additional face?

 

Well that was fast.

Looks better as Ratchet than Ironhide to me. Wish he had actual red cross symbols. At least they got rid of the diamond crotch. Still undecided until I see the figure in hand.

 

Love it. Looks better than Ironhide IMO. Love how the lightbar retracts to fit in Prime's trailer. Spanners for him and Wheeljack stood with the FT Dinobots. Win.

 

Even though this is the least unexpected MP reveal of all time, it's still blood exciting! Yes!  

 

And to think everyone was urging Takara to speed up!

I think he looks awesome. Love the striking white deco', and looks like they've nailed the head sculpt, including a smiley face which is perfect for the character.

Also, he comes with spanners! Amazing.  

Very excited.

 

The Autobot symbols over the crosses makes me want to cry, not in a good way.

 

The shoulders are a let down, but everything else is perfect. Thrilled with the remolding and the new accessories. The torch effect is a great touch! Surprised he comes with a smiling face, too!

 

Bearing in mind pre-existing limitations from the design of the mold and issues with the red cross... it's maybe as good as could be expected.

Indeed, I guess that's a good way of getting around the Red Cross symbols.

Also finally some pics of the height next to Prime and a carbot. That size is absolutely perfect. Ratchet is looking very good, much better than I expected.

 

I don't like the cross modification with adding up Autobot insignia.....

 

Agreed on the shoulders, but I'm already warming to it. I think it's probably the most elegant solution and not one that I've seen anyone suggest so far.

Aww, was hoping for black rather than blue windows and the shoulders look a mess (maybe the red cross was copyrighted?)

I just went from YES! to meh in the space of 5 minutes. :-(

 

It looks like Ratchet is sharing the same "standard" face as Ironhide.

 

The shoulders will be an easy cover up with Reprolabels. It'll cover the entire shoulder section so won't look obvious sticker like either.

I swear ppl knee jerk to extremes om MP reveals. Relax.

Also Sixo, that comparison makes me like him even more. Nice.

Good work, Sixo! I'm thinking Ratchet's deco compliments this mold even better than Ironhide. Feels more unified. Less of that disjointed feeling. He's definitely better posed than Ironhide in these shots, though.

I agree about the shoulders. It's a bit of a bummer, but they did what they could. I totally called the thighs and forearms! This big white bot's going to look pretty striking on the shelves for sure.

 

Gotta admit, I'm a little bummed the sled doesn't have treads, but I'm nitpicking. The accessories are all spot on. Can't wait to see them matched to their cartoon appearances!

 

I'm more than happy to buy him just for the alt mode. There's just something a bit awkward about the robot mode and the shared face.

The accessories will work well with Ratchet, Wheeljack and a proper set of Dinobots like the Gigasaurs though. The little heart monitor slide is a nice touch:
