I'd like an answer too haha. Lena definitely works in a factory or knows someone who does well. I figured it out when Lena had masterpiece seeker stands for Sunstorm and Skyward last year. They are knockoffs. But they're definitely made in the same factory. Haha
Asking about the police car marking - do a google image search for "Japanese police car" - that black "crest" on the hood is a common marking on them even today. I don't know when it first started being used, although I don't think there were any Lamborghini police cars in Japan in the 80s. (I could be wrong about that, but I think Nissans were fairly common, at least).
Well if this is not a KO repaint and is a factor reject or stolen product then not gonna lie, I'm happy I didn't preorder this because it doesn't look good at all...
This kind of stuff really, really ticks me off. When people sell early copies months ahead of release, not only are they stealing from the manufacturers (how do they get them other than through illegal means?), when they resell them on eBay, that's a lost sale for HasTak. I don't have the same problem with prototypes (who's it hurting, since those aren't meant for regular sale?), but I do with this nonsense.
A factory reject is generally trashed anyway. Usually, it's from mold testing. This might explain why Clampdown is "out" so early. So no one is really losing any money.
I've bought a few items from Lena, and they're usually factory rejects (unless noted in the auction). Mind you, I got a MP Lazerbeak from her and found no issues with it. As for the MP TF Expo Lambor, it was loose, and had really minor scratches on the roof top. Comes with all accessories though, and looks really, really nice. (Selling him on ebay right now). I do like color scheme of this vehicle. Looks a bit more cleaner, now as for his poor head, I'm sure it'll look much more refined once its officially released. I guess they're reusing Red's mold to get back on the costs on producing the mold in the first place.
Don't think those seeker stands are quite the same as there are a TON of people who have those repro stands on taobao, but very few sellers getting much of the stuff Lena gets (though I did get my Cloud Roadbuster on taobao). She no doubt has access to factory rejects/samples, and although everything I have gotten from her has been great, I hear that there can be blemished.
