Meh. I'll just wait for the small Megs gun accessory itself to show up on ebay like I'm doing with MP Ironhide's drill accessory. "Exclusive" accessories like this always show up on ebay (MP Bumblebee's battle mask, Wheeljack's anti-hypnosis device, Soundwave's clear cubes, etc). If the price is cheap enough I may get one or two of those as add-ons for my other MPs. I'm sorry but IMO TT MP Shockwave isn't worth more than $90 shipped.

    Received the Masterspiece Shockwave...
I don't know if I like it or not. It is ok but leaves me somehow"cold". The word "budgetpiece" instead of "masterpiece" keeps flying around my mind :)

Hope the next batch of mps will be better!

    OptimusTimelord: awesome gif!

That's why I haven't pulled the trigger (no pun intended) on this release. Although the mold design is nice, the height, the plastic finish and overall qualithy from what I've observed prevent's me from getting it. I don't think it'll stack up to my FT Quakewave. Maybe if the price drops significantly, I may consider it. The current direction of official TT MPs isn't blowing me away (again no pun intended) like they used to.

Looks good... But... And I hate to say this cause your stuff is so amazing... But... This one doesn't seem as smooth as your usual stuff. It's almost, just kinda, choppy(?).

Still looks good and is about a million billion times better than anything I could pull off. So please don't take my comment as anything but constructive criticism, with the best intentions.

    Cheers guys!
No worries, I actually mentioned in the gif thread that I wasn't quite happy with how the run at the beginning came out. Probably a combination of MP Shockwave's limited leg articulation, the original animation not being that great, and me having an off day! Maybe I should have cut the running part out altogether and just had him jump into the transformation.
    Thanks dudes :)

Finally got around to opening mine today...and this is probably my favorite MP release since the Datsun trio. Absolutely nailed it. Love the ratchety goodness all throughout the shoulders, a clever transformers (even if his legs are pretty hollow, the die cast make up for it. I don't mind the parts-forming backpack at all, because it's nice that his display stand can double as an optional piece instead of going into storage when displaying him in robot mode. I have a few very minor issues...one is that he can't rotate at the waist with full backpack, and even the smaller backpack untabs when you do (couldn't get it to tab in securely anyways; the larger pack tabbes in perfectly snug, though). I also wish his legs had ratchets so they wouldn't be so quick to spread apart...would have made for more stable posing. Finally, painted toon-accurate decepticon logos instead of stickers would have been nice, but I get allowing fans to choose; I'll probably do an Ocean dry transfer instead.

Love the color and finish, though...don't get the hate there...I get that toon accurate looks a bit darker, but if you think about it, he was always on Cybertron, where it's pretty dimly lit...looking at him in my case, the color fits almost perfectly to my eyes. Sorry to FT, but Quakewave has been replaced by the official release.

The only complaint I don't get is when someone says he feels cheap. He doesn't. His plastic quality is great and he's hefty for his size.

The only complaint that actually does bother me is the feet transformation in gun mode. You have two feet that seem like they were made to fill that gap and with the transformation being simple as it is there doesn't seem to be a reason to not add the extra step.

Yeah, the gaps on the gun hilt and the back of the gun are kinda lame...they could hae easily been covered somehow (especially the hilt...with how hollow the legs are, some kind of folding piece(s) could have been incorporated.

But he's almost always going to be displayed in bot mode for me, and even with gun mode, he'll be at an angle where you'll never see the empty space unless you're looking at my detolf from the side.

I will say I can appreciate how the shift even further towards toon accuracy is making figures like him look a tad strange next to others, but I don't mind it.

And even though I just opened my FT insecticons, I really hope for Takara versions soon. I can't really say the same for dinobots, especially with a 2nd version of Scoria coming...I just can't yet fathom how Takara could improve on much besides some of the head sculps and quibbles like the fragile pieces on Soar.

Yes! Glad you like him. Be careful with the hose. Mine has flaked to the point I just painted it black.

Great to hear someone digs him as much as I do. My favorite Decepticon MP (juuuuust edges out Soundwave) and one of my top five favorite MPs period. I do recommend dripping a few drops of Future (Pledge Floor Care Finish) into his thigh joints to tighten them up.

I really dig his color and prefer it to dark purple. His purple was all over the place in the show and the purple used on the MP is not far off from some scenes and episodes. I've said it before, but most of these MPs aren't an exact color match to the animation.

No problems here with the finish. He's consistent with Rodimus and Star Saber and I don't feel he's missing anything. If it weren't for the potential of paint scrape at the hinge I'm sure his thighs might've been painted, but I've no problems with the bare plastic. Ears, armature, outer knees, outer legs/handle, and feet all have grey/metallic paint. Purple paint around the eye, the hose, the armature, and the feet. Silver paint on his chest's tech molding. He does have more paint apps than some give him credit for.

Size and aesthetics are close to ideal for me. Love the feel/build. Love the gimmicks/accessories. Engineering is impressive with the exception of the feet, which are my only nitpick. More could've been done to make them fatter in bot mode and have them fit more cleanly in gun mode, but it's not a deal breaker. His three clicks of fore/aft articulation is weird, but I do love that he has a generous amount of side to side tilt.

I might end up using a bit of future...he does have a tendency to try and do a split, but it's not too bad on mine...I think the die cast feet and ankle tilt help him stay in the pose I have him in well enough for now. I'll have to keep an eye on the hose...don't plan to fiddle with it much, though. So far I haven't had any paint issues with him, Hot Rod, Ironhide, or Ratchet (well, Ratchet had a liiiitle flaking, not much, and some spots look a little dirty/smudged, which is odd because I washed my hands before touching him...). Then again, I only took them all to robot mode...no plans to transformer back any time soon; but I have a big bottle of future just in case the chrome starts to show signs of wear.

No paint issues with the hose on mine, transformed well over 10 times.

Ran across this and thought I'd pass it along for anyone interested:

HLJ has Shockwave on sale for $98.23...looks like until June 20th.

    https://hlj.com/product/TKT85488

Wish I had waited to buy mine now...ah well...

Edit: Quick correction. It ends June 20th in Japan, so it'll end on the 19th for those in the west.
